Charnwood Table Saw
A good solid piece of kit, which wasn't difficult to assemble because the instructions were clear with colour illustrations and a methodical step by step approach. Most the loose components had the fixings already attached and it came in a solid plywood box. There was a mixup with delivery, which meant that my first order was sent to the wrong address and as I had no expectations about next day delivery, two weeks had elapsed before I contacted the retailer. The situation was quickly resolved. The retailer was very helpful and the table saw arrived the following day. but it might be useful to indicate that next day delivery is likely with this item. I also strongly advise any one with a small workshop to buy the additional wheel trolley system because the table saw is heavy and would be impossible to move singlehanded.I am very pleased with the table saw. It is well engineered, accurately tooled and for an amateur like myself, easy to use. The motor is extremely quiet and sufficiently powerful to cut through various thicknesses of hardwood. I would certainly buy Charnwood products again.

What a difference in a good way. Took about an hour to set up ...
This is an upgrade from a Nutool HS1500 that I have used for nearly 15 years. What a difference in a good way. Took about an hour to set up and do a couple of test cuts. This saw is so quiet compared with my other saws. I have a 3 phase wadkin combi which you definitely need ear protectors for. With this machine the dust extractor is louder. An excellent saw for serious hobbyist. It doesnt affect me too much as I have other saws, but with it being an 8" blade it is surprising how shallow a cuts can be made. But at an extra nearly £200 for the 10" saw version, this is better value.Downsides, blade guard. Gets in the way, especially on thinner cuts. Easily fixed though but not advised.Extension tables sit about 3mm down from cast bed, causing rocking. I will try shimming to fix this.

Overall I like this saw bench
Overall I like this saw bench, its sturdy and cuts accurately but I must point out some things of concern; the short review film of this saw gives the impression that the table can be quickly dismantled for storage but this is not the case, it is held on by 8 bolts which on assembling the saw have to be precisely set to align the cutting scale with the blade. to remove is a spanner job and its not a smooth operation. if however like me you intend to leave it attached then its fine and not in any danger of moving out of line. Another issue is the blade guard, it does not have a way of quick removal but requires a socket to loosen the locking nut, this is unfortunate because to reach the maximum 90 degree cutting depth of 60mm it needs to be removed! the maximum cutting depth at 90 degree with it attached is only 38mm!! This must surely be a design issue as its definitely not recommended to use any saw without its guard! No push stick is supplied despite one being shown in the film. If these issues could be addressed this would be a very effective saw for the money.

Value for money.?
Not that easy to set up, the extension tables are only able two be moved downwards due to the design, the mitre slots on mine are both slightly different sizes and the gauge is sloppy enough in either, to give poor precision, and I cant find T bolts to fit anybody's feather boards! The saw is quiet, but dust extraction is poor.

Good machine for the price.
Machine well packed for delivery. Instructions easy to follow. Machine was already very accurate when set up. For a saw it has low noise.Excellent buy, highly recommend.
