Extra Stable
I use the acoustic guitar model for my acoustic guitar and give it a 10 out of 10 rating. I also wanted a K&M stand for my open-back banjo. The acoustic guitar model does hold my banjo (after closing the legs one notch so that the rim doesn't touch the floor), but because it is designed for an acoustic guitar the arms that the banjo rests on are long, and the fit isn't snug. I then ordered the K&M bass guitar model, hoping it would hold the banjo more snugly. The bass model has a deep notch in the arms in order to hold the typical electric bass, but it was too narrow for my banjo. The banjo sat up on the shoulders of the notch rather than resting down in the notch. I returned the bass guitar version and ordered a second acoustic version for my banjo, and it works just fine. It is so solid that I have no worries about my banjo being inadvertently knocked over.

I have several K&A guitar stands. These work quite well for stage and studio.
I gave up on the higher guitar stands from other brands. In my opinion they are not safe. Other than putting your instrument in the case onstage, these K&M A frame stands are the ticket. Easy to use, and portable.

An ok portable guitar stand
The K&M A-Frame Guitar Stand is an average stand in my opinion. It does hold up the acoustic guitar and it is very portable but I'd keep your guitar and stand out away and close to a corner, if you value your guitar. Not a specific knock on this, I said the same thing for a Hercules but most low and portable stands like this, are the same, they do keep the guitar up but a careless bump can knock it down. You may be careful around it, but it's hard to say for others nearby. For a cheap guitar, I wouldn't mind using this, but for a more expensive guitar, no thanks. Please click YES if my review have been helpful to you, it will encourage me to continue writing and updating my reviews, and leave a comment if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer if I can be of help.

The best A-Frame on the market
Have looked at and tried all the others at the local big box music store. I purchased the K&M through Amazon and am now ordering two more to replace my support on the bottom and rest on the neck stands. The angle of the guitar on the unit is slight, just what you would expect. I teach classical guitar and have no reserve about placing very expensive guitars on this unit. There are no close seconds, this unit is a rock. Unless you smash your guitar on it, it will not scratch the surfaceof your instrument. The On Stage and other less expensive brands will hold your guitar they just are not as sturdy as this unit. It's heavy, will not tip over and offers the best protection against scratching your investment.

Very sturdy!
I love this stand! Very sturdy and I trust my $3500 Taylor to sit on it full time rather than putting it back in its case every day. I also purchased the electric version for my Les Paul. Highly recommended if you care about your guitars!

The stands were cars, this would be a BMW.
Best stand out there, period. I have two of these. They are the most stable, fold flat, and the rubber stays supple (one I've had for over 10years). K&M is the last name in stands. German designed, stable and strong.

A nice heavy duty stand the sits low to the ground ...
A nice heavy duty stand the sits low to the ground and is pretty unobtrusive. I'm liking it very much - sturdy and secure.

Heavy duty piece of kit.
This is a heavy duty piece of kit. I suspect it will last a lifetime! It holds my expensive classical guitar safely and securely.
