Dumplings are one of our family's favorite food. Rather that using a dough, we most of the time get the wrapper. Every time we make dumpling, my 4 year old wants to participate and make dumplings with us. This dumpling kit with ingredients was very good way to start from scratch and teach her about the dumpling, recipe. Overall she enjoyed the process and she ate all the dumplings that she made. If you look at this kit as food, its quite expensive. The All purpose flour that in the pack is very elastic so hard to roll to make dumpling thin. The colors that in the kit are good considering the fact that they are all natural as it colored the dough perfect when used in right amount. I used 1 cup of flour to 1 pack of color. The dumpling cutter and rolling pin are basic, does the work and is durable. If you look at this kit as activity that results in good and healthy food for dinner/ lunch $40 is worth the price.

What I liked about this product: It was fun to make and watch everyone be so creative with the dumplings. They give you a recipe to try which was a good base starter recipe. We tweaked the recipe to our own liking and liked the dumplings. They have videos on how to mix, roll and cook the dumplings which are helpful. All natural ingredients. If you follow the recipe instructions then you will not need the dumpling mold/cutter but it’s nice to have if you cannot follow the technique they use to hand form the dumplings. This is a great concept for a dumpling making party which is what we did with our guest for dinner. The dough must sit for 30 minutes and we made use of that time catching up with our guest. What I disliked about this product: nothing. We meant to take after pictures but they were so good they were gone before we remembered.

This is a complete set of everything you'd need to create artisan dumplings, minus the filling. It comes in a very giftable box which can be easily wrapped. Inside is the flour, color packets, rolling pin, and dumpling cutter which is similar to a cookie cutter. I found everything easy to use although it is a significant time investment so this is definitely a set for someone who loves being in the kitchen. Just to make a few dumplings took a long time but we had fun figuring out different colors and patterns for the dough. It probably takes a while to get them looking perfect but it was a fun activity. Highly recommend!

Quite expensive when you're not getting the filling for the dumplings. It's a fun activity to do with the kids but it takes some time to understand because the instructions aren't the best. The dye is all natural which is really nice, and it is an experience, but the 4 pounds of flour and a rolling pin and cookie cutter is not worth the cost. And you have to figure out how to get multicolored dumplings like what is shown on the packaging, if you want to not blend the colors together.

The printed instructions in the box explain how to make a batch of 20 dumpling wrappers of a single color and shape (there are enough supplies to do the recipe 4 times, a different color each time). There are also recipes to make filling for the dumplings, but you will need to provide the ingredients. There are no instructions for the fancy multi-color dumplings featured. Two QR codes in the instructions (one labeled "Cooking Video" the other labeled "Tips & Tricks") gave me the expectation that more info would be found online, but they both took me to the Global Grub homepage trying to sell me similar kits with no clear way to get the additional information. Eventually I found the page for this kit which had a video demonstrating the printed instructions, and a video demonstrating other shapes. I'm still not clear on how the multicolor wraps featured in the product photos are supposed to be rolled out as the demonstration videos did not show this process at all. While the videos were okay to watch and provided an overview of the process, more explanation of the process would be helpful (the video soundtrack is only music). I know that $40 is quite a bit to pay for a few pounds of bread flour, some food coloring, a rolling pin, and a round cutter. What you are paying for is the experience. It is all packaged really nicely which does enhance the experience and make it more giftable; however, I expected this kit to provide much more in the way of instruction to help ensure success.

This would make a great gift for anyone in your life who enjoys cooking, Everything is labeled clearly and it is extremely beginner friendly and makes such pretty dyed dumplings.
