Q: Do you have to use one of speaker modes? Also, do any of them try to only be a flat frequency reproduction of the input signal(s)?

You do have to use one of the modes for your sound. I have that the “live” setting to be the closest reproduction signal.

Q: Does this works with my motif xf6 6 piano ?

Honestly, I have not used a motif xf6 6 piano, but if your piano has a line out you connect it directly to the Mackie Thump12A. OR, connect the Motif to a mixer, then the mixer to the Mackie Thump 12A; this way you have a control of your tonal quality. REMEMBER, the Mackie thump 12A is Powered Speaker which means it is an amplifier and a speaker into 1 enclosure.

Q: floor monitor use - someone noted dual angle design. Does that mean there are two different angles that can be used for the stage monitor function?

No, they are both the same angle. That said, they are excellent speakers for whatever use you have in mind.

Q: At what percentage can i play the mackie 15bst for 6 hours

Percentage? I normally play a 4-6 hours set and barely have the gain at a 3 ( if you're looking at the volume knob on a scale from 1-10)
