love the Camera, pretty straightforward to install with STINGER head unit. don't forget to cut the blue wire for better Camera quality.

Well, I really want to like this Echomaster camera but I am not sure it is 100% compatible with my Kenwood DNR1007XR deck. I installed it first in the standard 480p mode (not cutting the blue wire that enables AHD 720 mode). In that mode I am able to see color (but it was clearly low in resolution), but once I cut the blue wire, the Kenwood deck shows the image as grayscale (black and white), lacking any color. I wish there was more information out there on compatibility of the AHD standard (which in theory both the deck and camera fully support).If it turns out that these AHD standard products aren't truly compatible, I may as well have purchased the $80 half as expensive standard definition camera that Stinger/Echomaster sells.I am hoping that I either have a loose connection or am missing a setting in my Kenwood Deck (besides its HD/NTSC/PAL mode setting). If I do get this working at 720p in color, I'll post a future edit...

Exactly as described

I didn’t use the 3 ring holder for the spare tire lugs as I was worried they would strip the threading. Only 1 screw holds the camera in place for the spare tire mount. The screw isn’t long enough to tighten the camera to hold in position and strips very easy. The kit also came with a license plate camera holder mount, the license plate camera mount is held by 2 screws, it’s more stable the spare tire mount.

Very pleased with the camera. The video is clear and installation was very easy.

First, the picture is good. BUT - other things could be better. The advertised selectable parking lanes is only a one-time choice at installation. You have to either cut wires or not to make this choice. Second, the wire to be hooked to current is located at the radio end instead of near the car backup light where it should be, resulting in an additional wire having to be run from the front of the Jeep to the rear tail light. Third, the camera viewing angle is NOT 170 degrees - closer to 100 giving a narrow viewing field both vertical and horizontal. (However, I cannot tell whether that is the fault of the camera or the Sony radio it connects to)
