I thought I’d try this foundation. It goes on like spackle. Sits on top of my skin. Clearly visible and cakey. It’s going in the bin.

This was so thick. Hard to apply. Tried a sponge and brush. Still looked terrible

Love the smooth texture and coverage

After reading over the ingredients, it seems the COVER FX Total Cover Cream Foundation is not made with any silicone byproducts, so I opted to use a silicone free primer. Right off the bat, after first trying it, I hate the sponge. It isn't really very good for applying the foundation, it left my face looking cakey in certain areas. So, next go round, I tried it with a brush. Same result. Third time around, I used a beauty sponge and was a bit more satisfied with the way it looked on my face. I wouldn't call it full coverage. More of a medium coverage, but be careful building it up because it will likely look very pancakey. I ordered a few different shades to try to find the right color for my light skin tone with pink undertones. A plus side to this line is that they do have a ton of color options and you can likely find a shade suitable for your skin tone. I however just do not really care for the way it sits on my skin. It absolutely looks like I have makeup on (I prefer a more natural yet polished look), and it's patchy and cakey in some areas, even with primer, setting spray, and setting powder.

I'm glad I tried this cream foundation, although the color I chose doesn't quite match my skin's undertones, I think. The compact that holds this product is very classy, with nice weight and a magnetic closure. The foundation itself is very creamy and smooth, and it is very buildable, allowing full coverage of any imperfections...dark spots, acne scars, etc. It can be applied using a regular compact sponge, a beauty blender, or a foundation brush (maybe even with your fingers, but that's not the most hygienic choice). I prefer a beauty blender for a product like this. Personally, even though this is a buildable formula, I find this foundation just a little too heavy and creamy for me. I prefer very light, dewy coverage that basically lets my skin breathe, but covers some of the red coloration in my skin, and I use another tinted CC cream for that more everyday look. However, there are always going to be those occasions when I want or need a little more coverage, and maybe a more 'makeupy' look, and that's when I'll reach for this. I like it, but it's not right for my everyday routine. It's overkill for me, but it might be just right for you. The quality is here, for sure, so it's just a matter of finding your best shade. Oh, and it wears well all day or all night, your choice. Four stars.** I almost forgot: This brand is definitely 100% vegan and CRUELTY-FREE!! **

I was very hopeful of this product since it was said to be medium to full coverage. It hardly covered anything at all. My melasma isn’t so bad but this felt like a light coverage and although I tried to build, it would turn my melasma bluish/gray in color. Disappointing for the price.
