One piece drone frames come beeswax coated and are 6 ¼" depths. Comes in neon green color to help you easily identify drone combs. When drone are about to hatch take this board out and place in a bag and put in the freeze for about 2 days to control varroa mites through natural integrated pest management of your hives. Also use this to board to raise drone bee's. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) uses plastic drone comb, with larger cells, to promote the laying of drone pupae. Varroa Mites are more likely to lay their eggs within drone cells to optimize their chance of survival. Using this knowledge, bee keepers are using IPM's to reduce Varroa Mite populations without using medications or pesticides. By removing and freezing or cleaning out the plastic drone comb, beekeepers are greatly reducing Varroa Mite numbers within their colonies.
