I guess, due to the design, these don't appear as bright as the plug-in night lights; they point down, instead of the light shining outwards. Having said that, they illuminate the area of stairs well enough at night (the close-up photo might not show that so well).These are super easy to install if you are simply replacing an existing plate, but I was also putting in a new electrical box (old work), and I have to do a little more work to get it to fit flush against the wall. Due to the design and need to have wires running from the terminals to the light, there is a section of the back profile that keeps the plate away from the wall—you can see it on the pic of the back of the plate, either side of the contacts that are sticking upwards. If you are placing this on an existing socket then the box is behind the wall and all is good. With an old work box, however, the plate sits flush with the edge of the box, because that sits proud of the wall about a 16th of an inch or so. In order to get it flush with the wall I had to cut away some of the box, either side, to accommodate the plate's profile. Hopefully that is clear on the attached images. Only took about 5 minutes, but something you may consider.Works exactly as you'd expect a night light to work, with a little less light than a traditional night light.Even with the little extra work, these still get 5 stars from me. They are simple, clean looking, and I am not wasting a socket or having to look at something sticking out from the wall 24/7, whether it's in use or not.

I needed a way to find my way to the bathroom at night without being blinded by turning on the actual lights. These outlight lights are perfect! There were so easy to install. You literally just replace your existing outlet cover with a single screw. They have a really innovative way of drawing power from the outlet itself by clamping onto the screws that are located in the middle of the outlet itself. Once installed, they are super attractive. Just enough light to find your way, but not so much that it feels like you left the lights on.

Theses are amazing and easy peasy! work great and best of all they don’t take up a plug! will be buying more!!

GREAT product. My only gripe is the ITEM is PRICED TOO HIGH. There are other places where the price is around $10 each. OVERPRICED!

Like that nothing sticks out into the walkway for these nightlights.

This is a really good idea if you are elderly (69yo here) and want to light up a hallway - especially if it is an exit path. I installed 3 of these in 10 minutes. I think I will buy more because they are very sleek unlike plug in nightlights that you need to yank out if you need the outlet.

They are very easy to install. They provide just enough light for a dark hallway. Still have use of both outlets

There is enough light for guests to see at night. No need for plug in night lights.
