Take my money.
I love this grinder. It feels significant, and churns out a consistent grind every day. I love the granularity of the grind size. Just a little tap on the side and all the grounds fall out. I dont need to use the brush to keep it clean. I am glad I spent a little more money for this.

The final and best form of the venerable C2
The C2 is a well-respected and consistently recommended grinder in the less-than $100 price range, and this C2S model is the best version of that grinder. Everything on this grinder is metal, from the handle (not just the arm, the handle you hold when grinding is solid metal) to the entire body and everything in it. It has two bearings on the shaft, which makes it extremely balanced and without any slop or wiggliness in the turning action. The finish on the body reminds me of high-quality camera equipment. Very nicely done. The body is weighty and very solid metal, and the bottom cup has been improved with a rubber bottom and very nice threading with a collar to make re-threading the cup dead-easy. Same burr as any other C2 model, which I prefer for its speed, which is among the faster hand grinders out there. Highly recommended and would make a very impressive gift for a coffee lover. You can find all the specifics on its performance and grind quality on youtube or anywhere else coffee gear is reviewed, but you can't go wrong with this model at this price. It's about ten bucks more than the base C2 (which has plastic parts).

Nice unit, would recommend
High quality unit. Nice grind. Can be difficult to achieve a true and even “corse grind”, but for the money well worth it. Using this machine to grind beans myself has greatly increased the flavor of pour over coffee made at home.

Great addition to moka pot
I recently got myself a small 3 cup moka pot for making espresso, and I was told I really needed to invest in a grinder. I had bought Lily's pre-ground espresso initially, and it was fine, but there is a noticeable difference between that and fresh ground. I like how easy it is to choose a grind size and it takes about a min to grind 13g for my pot. In combo with an aeropress filter it's pretty close to perfect. I have found that I need to let it sit for a while to reduce the static of the grind. I usually try to grind it before I head out to take my dog for a walk, and by the time we're back and ready to make coffee it's perfect. Highly recommend, very high build quality and grind consistency.

Yes, you can use it for espresso.
Pros:Easy to use. I can get a good grip on this grinder both because of its size and texture. Grinding is easier than some grinders with larger burrs but takes longer. I prefer the slower grind to the harder grind fwiw. Adjustments are easy.Cons:The threads are thin and easy to cross thread. I have to be careful about lining up the catch cup with the body. Also, I wish there were numbers on the adjustment wheel, so I knew what click I was on. Speaking of adjustments, I wish it had half clicks to make dialing easier. (It seems there are two ways to mod it for this but that is another story).Other:While this is said to hold 30 grams of coffee that is only true with a modern medium roast from a specialty roaster. You can hold about 35 grams with a light roast and only about 20 grams with a dark roast. Maybe less if you are grinding grocery store dark roasts.A note on espresso:I would like to add that many people say this grinder is not useable for espresso and that hasn't been my experience. However, your situation might be different. I will note that I am using a 54mm portafilter and not a 58. I am also drinking more of a medium to medium-dark roast (again modern 3rd wave coffee) that is somewhere around 53-68 on the agtron scale. If you use a larger portafilter or light roasted coffee, then maybe you will have different results. Works great paired with my flair too (39mm).Shot times differ around 6-7 seconds per click so you may only have one setting that works for you. You can up or down dose by half a gram if you need to slow down or speed up a shot. Not a perfect solution but it works.Grinding time can range from 1-1.5 minutes when grinding for espresso. So, with some caveats you can grind for espresso. Do you want to, that is up to you. I am fine with it.Notes on flavor:This seems to produce more fines than my other hand grinder. I tend to like that but you may not. Just thought I'd mention it.Conclusion:It is a capable grinder. More so if you understand its limitations before buying it.

Kind of like buying an fantastic watch
How often do you get to say, "This is really beautifully made" about an item you buy, either on or off line?Every time I use my TIMEMORE Chestnut C2 Manual Coffee Grinder, I feel good about it; it's a quality, precision product and it does a really, really good job.I was feeling pretty ho-hum about my morning coffee. I bought pre-ground coffee to use in a My K-Cup in a Keurig. The coffee was never really great (and never really hot enough).Buying this Timemore coffee grinder changed my whole approach. Now I buy local recently roasted beans, grind them myself right before I use a pour-over. I even buy better (organic) milk to add to it. What a difference! Now, my morning cup of coffee is exactly what I was looking for. So it's actually brings me a certain amount of satisfaction that I get to feel at the start of each day.
