Love these shoes!
I'm very impressed with these shoes right out of the box... they feel great! I was worried they'd be too stiff, but they're lightweight and feel flexible enough to give when you need to maintain balance and still strong enough to protect and support your foot. I find the arch support very comfortable... I normally buy arch supports if the shoe is lacking, but I won't need to with this pair. I wear an 8 medium shoe and followed the suggestion of some reviewers and purchased half a size larger so I can wear thick thermal socks. The 8.5 is a perfect fit with thick socks and still feel comfortable with regular winter socks. The toebox is impressively roomy without being too wide... perfect for those over 50 years old and have a hard time fitting their bunions into hiking boots. 😁 I just bought these so if anything changes I'll leave an update.

AWESOME HIKING SHOE
Have been wearing Keen hiking sandals for several years and love them, so decided it was time for hiking boots. This item does not disappoint 🙌 reviewers commented lack of cushion which I think is a personal preference. An insert was included in my pair which has great padding, just not a good fit for me because of pressure point issues. Added a gel heal insert & I am ready to hit the trail. I like that the insert is removable and you can customize padding for personal comfort.😉

Comfortable right from the start
The breaking-in period for these boots is just about invisible. They were comfortable as soon as I put them on. I was even walking on the hard marble floors of an old museum. I haven't had them long enough to try out the waterproofing, but since they were originally designed for the Pacific Northwest, I don't expect any problems. Recommended to me by a friend who lived out there.

Buy these boots!
Absolutely love! Swapped my Merrell trail gloves out for these and I will never look back. First time wearing my Keens I went on a 6 mile hike, comfy right out of the box! I will say, thicker socks will be your friend as they run a little big and the tongue did tend to rub a little on the front of my ankle but they exceeded my expectations!

Seems decent so far, but way too big
They seem sturdy and have good traction, but they apparently run big, and they aren’t very breathable.

These won my wife over to non-cute shoes.
My wife is a fashionista and a city girl through and through. We recently went on a trip to Iceland and I absolutely insisted that she get a pair of REAL hiking boots for the trip. "But they're all so ugly!" she cried. I found these boots and ordered them. She wore them reluctantly at first, but was loving them after the first couple of days. Kept her feet comfortable, protected & dry for the whole trip. And they aren't too bad looking either.

Nice boots but NOT made for medium to high arches
The boots seem well made, but I have medium-high arches and I can feel my foot roll inward when I walk. It’s very noticeable. Inserts change the fit too much so I’ll have to return, which is a bummer because they’re really nice boots.

Esta bien
Es bonita y cómodo, peor un poco más ancha de lo que esperaba.

As described for wider feet, allowing room for toe splay! Heavy though.
I am new to hiking. I walk about 30 miles per week for fun and fitness and normally use trainers. However a recent commitment to a hiking retreat meant that I needed more robust footwear. Unfortunately for me I didn't do my proper due dilligence and opted for my normal size in a pair of Columbia boots bought at my local hiking store. I noted that the toe box was very VERY tight but was assured that it would losen out and mould with my feet. It did not. I ended up with black toenails that are just now ready to fall off.I was keen not to repeat this when hiking again, and researched options for wider feet. I am a size 10, small person with slightly wider feet and my toes like some space. Keen hiking boots are perfect for me. They allow my toes to splay out comfortably. They are heavy enough on the foot and overall feel like a pretty big fit.I take a size 5 UK. I wear 5.5 in trainers and I ordered 5.5 in these - they were HUGE. I returned them as they had been previously used and I will re-order in the size 5. I also liked the look of the more urban shoe but was hesitant about ordering it as it had fewer reviews.

Light but strong
Very comfortable, I am not used to having shoes around my ankles so wear thick socks with these

Very comfy
I bought these hiking shoes for dog walking at the forest. Before I had Salomon 3D feet during 10 years and my feet grew up one size more so I had to choose another shoes. I choose size 40 and normally I wear 39,5 cause I wanted more space and to wear with a winter socks. I love violet color so the choice was easy. There are a lot of space at the toe area and I love it. Nice comfy support at the ankle , not sweat.

Nice and wide
I have short and wide feet and struggle to get walking shoes and boots to fit. Someone in an outdoor shop recommended Keen to me as they have a wide toe box (the shop didn’t stock women’s). I am a size 3.5 normal shoe. Oddly Amazon recommended a 2.5, but that was clearly nonsense so I ordered the 4 and 4.5 to try: the 4.5 was a better fit allowing for thick pairs of walking socks. First time not having squashed toes in a walking boot. I’ve dropped one star as the collar rubs a bit on my ankle bone, but this may well be specific to me.

My favourite Keen hikers at a great price!
I bought these to replace an old pair of Keen hikers that I absolutely loved, but they had served their time and were ready to be replaced. I can't remember if they were Targhee's or not, but from what my husband and I can tell, these are the boots that were most similar to my last pair.I jumped on this pair because the price was awesome, compared to ordering directly from Keen! They have the classic Keen wider toe box, which is perfect for my wide, size 8 feet. I ordered an 8, and they fit perfectly. I wore them for a day on my daughters field trip, and I can't really say that they needed to be broken in, they were just comfy and a perfect fit from the get-go. I also wore these hiking this summer in Alberta and BC, and they were amazingly comfortable. I highly recommend if you're looking for a hiking boot with a nice wide toe box and you don't want to have to break them in!
