Hoffman Horticultural Perlite

I was looking for plain perlite to repot some cacti / succulents but the only thing I could find locally was the brand with added fertilizer. I'm not sure if that would have worked but I'd rather be safe than sorry. This does not contain any additives from what I can tell. I didn't see that advertised explicitly anywhere on the product page so thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else was unsure. Great product, will definitely order again when needed.

It's ridiculously hard for me to get perlite without miracle grow in it around here. This is perfect for carnivorous plants because it doesn't have any extra additives in it, nothing detrimental to the sensitive plants that require nutrient poor soil.The product is clean, a bright white mixture of different granules of perlite. Easy to open and store, very lightweight.

Easy to mix with potting soil, Keeps from overwatering.

A little powdery but none the less great product great price!

I combined this perlite with Plant Success Granular Mycorhizae Inoculant to my potting soil right before transplanting 4 weeks ago. I have never had root masses like I do now. This is my first year using these products. They have both become standard for me from now on.

My go to mix in for well draining soil.

Perlite is usable and totally fine, but there was a giant rip down the side of the bag that was taped up very poorly. This caused the entire bag of perlite to empty all over my floor upon opening. Stuff is hard to clean up.

Perlite is a great additive to potting soil to provide better air to roots, and it 'lightens' the soil. Recommend adding perlite if your soil is thick or heavy. I couldn't find smaller bags at the the hardware store, and I don't need a 40 pound bag! This little bag handled a couple of 5 gallon pots, when mixed with good soil.
