Amazing capabilities for Digital NV
I was interested in this light because the emitter is a Vcsel (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting LASER) vs. a standard IR LED. This is the same technology used in PEQ-15s and other boxed based IR designators/illuminators that can cost $Ks but in a simple flashlight that I can attach to my gun using 1" scope rings.Works amazing well with Digital Night vision. Looking through my Sightmark mini 4K digital NV and Holosun DRS-NV, I can easily see object in pitch black out past 600 yards (which is the extent of the open range at my property). The light will focus down to a "fat" laser beam that I can use as a designator while the flood FOV is excellent. Looking through my Gen3 analog PVS-14 it barely shows up (like 50-100ft range). knowing that 940nm is outside of the range that analog NV gear can detect, if you are using analog (Gen 1-3) NV, get an 850NM wavelength light. At 940nm wavelength, the light's visible glow is almost non-existent. I think past 5-10ft in the dark, an observer will not see it, it's so faint. I know the Hogs I'm chasing won't be able to detect it like they can with the 850nm LED based IR lights I've been running. As far as durability, I cannot comment. Have only had it for 2 weeks and played with it only a few times and only for short periods. With the 25% coupon, I'm ordering more of these!

Defective 940nm chipset? Beam movement issues too. Would not advise for NV hunting.
I know the 940 ir chipset delivers a less eye visual glow but the 1605n is way less than other 940’s I own.Trying to contact seller has proven to be difficult here on Amazon.I took a picture 5/6/25 today showing a comparison of the 1605n vs another brand in order to show the diminished output. The 1605n has a dimmer and it was turned up to full output. Battery freshly charged. The 1605n barely glows. It seems as just a small area of the chip glows. Defective? The other shown has a much brighter full chip area glow.I found it does deliver a tight beam of ir light when it’s twisted all the way forward for it’s tightest focus. Using an ATN 4k Pro at 5x the max game recognition distance was 110 yds. Overcast night 38 F degrees 10:00 pm .The other issue is once the focusing head is turned say from tight focus toward a wider beam the light beam itself shifts due the head wobble movement on the body. Meaning the light beam doesn’t stay with the NV scope’s point of aim.A critical deficiency IMO.If one were to use it for shorter distances with a wider beam then the beam focus might not be an issue. It appears made well but IMO it has some issues for NV hunting.

Well made
Works good with my ATN night scope.

Using this as an external IR light on a Sightmark scope. The ability to focus light intensity is awesome. Product will quickly pay for itself with the ability to recharge battery instead of burning up two double a batteries every few hours. After a few uses the switch broke at the end of the wire.

Quality product, research your application of I.R. needs
Great product, easy to use and understand. Research your needs/application or I.R. before getting either wavelength. The bigger number doesn't mean better illumination. I got this version thinking the higher number is better for hunting. Well, no, its better suited for close quarters. I returned this version of their light and ordered the 850nm version.

Three Stars
Was not what I needed so I returned it. It's infared...not night vision as I originally thought.

Unit didnt work.
I received this item and it did not work. It did not come with any documentation to assist me with operation of the unit or contact informArion for the company so I could reach out and speak to sone one to make sure what was going on with the unit. Unfortunately I spent weeks buying new batteries and chargers and scratching my head to try to figure out what I was doing wring finally I purchased another ir flashlight which helped me identify the one I had was bad. The money I spent on the unit was not worth the time and aggrivation this has caused me. I am very dissapointed in the whole experiance
