Very sturdy knife
First off, make sure you read the description. The blade does not retract or adjust. I didn't and somehow missed it in the product description so I was surprised. But they make it clear so that's on me not them. With it not being retractable, it is very sturdy and secure while cutting things. The knife is actually quite heavy which lends to the sturdy feeling I mentioned, and since it's not retractable you won't be carrying it around in your pocket so the weight shouldn't be an issue. The knife opens up quite easily by turning the central knob which allows the body to pivot open and reveal extra blades inside. It comes with a bunch of straight razors and some hooked ones. Definitely a great box cutter as long as you don't have kiddos around.

It’s a Professional Grade Fixed Blade Utility – Dry Wall Knife. Blades Made Of?
I think this an excellent grade, some may argue professional grade. The fixed blade utility/dry wall knife arrived in a simple, rectangular, plain, flimsy, brown, retail, cardboard type package that displayed a drawing of the knife and some basic information and blade change instructions. The package was heavy, which immediately suggested the contents were thick, sturdy, and durable, they were. Inside was the knife and (10) extra (first use) blades, ½ being dry wall – straight blades, and the other ½ being [hooked] roofing felt blades. The knife is a silver metal – which I conclude to be aluminum. The “trapezoidal” blades were also silver in color and made of steel, I cannot confirm that they are stainless steel. I would have preferred the knife and blades being , as were the blades. The knife has had rubberized plastic accents, in the top and bottom of the handle and around the blade. Now, I like the idea this rubberized plastic allows for added grip, however, I have a concern. Many times, whenever this rubberized plastic is involved, the rubberized plastic starts to break down and get so sticky, that use is a waste, leaving black residue all over my hands. Only time will tell, but I have had so much experience with this happening, I think this use is more of a negative than a positive. Now, the next question that I have is what kind of metal is being used for the knife and were the supplied blades made from stainless or high carbon steel, not only to resist rust, but for durability (although high carbon can be brittle). Professional grade is made of stainless steel, from the knife to the blade, further, dolphin knives, which this one is close to be, is more angled for a better grip. So, that’s why I do not think this is professional grade. The design of this utility knife appears more retail then professional. Nevertheless, I think this a good knife. There is magnetic storage in the storage area and a magnet where the blade is placed.Instructions? There were no instructions, other than a note how to install the blades. When I selected this, I thought that possibly more instructions would have been included, they were not. That’s kind of a negative.SturdyYesDurableSo far, yes.Country of origin?Made in China.Fit & FinishAs it should be, no real complaints.WeightEmpty, near 7 ounces.MeasurementsAbout 7” long, a bit thicker the ¾” ounce, and as much as 1½” tall.RatingIt’s not perfect, as noted in my thoughts above, for me, it’s a strong (4).I hope my thoughts added information.

The real deal!!
The first thing that impressed me when I got this knife in the mail is how heavy the little package was. This knife is hefty, compared to all the others I have in my collection. That is important to me for control. There is a dial on the side of the knife that you can turn with your fingers to quickly access the blades (no more looking for a screwdriver to open the knife body). After a few turns, half of the knife body rotated out of the way exposing the place the blade is installed. There is a metal clip holding the spare blades firmly in place inserted the handle so they don't rattle around. Installing or changing a blade is quick and easy. The one feature you should be aware of is the blade does not retract. On one hand, that means I need to remove the blade when storing it, or find some way to holster the knife. On the other hand, all of my retractable razor knives seem to slip when I apply much pressure, and that can be frustrating. I will take the trade off in order to have a strong fixed blade knife. All things considered, this is an easy five stars.

Works well but dangerous
Great for cutting shingles but no way to store the blade it just constantly exposed and this is dangerous

Great Feel
This is a really nice knife, in my opinion. I am not using it in a professional setting so I don’t know how it compares to other knives if you’re using them for hours every day, but it’s great for what I use it for. It’s a fixed blade knife, so it’s not retractable, but I prefer that it’s not going to slide back when I’m applying a lot of pressure. It’s easy enough to open it up (without a screwdriver) and store the blade in a clip inside when you’re not using it.The knife is on the larger and heavier side, but I like the heft and size because it seems easier to control this way. The metal and rubber give me a secure grip.It comes with plenty of extra blades, too.It seems like a pretty good knife and it’s priced well.

sharp, heavy-weight knife
This utility knife is sharp and feels heavy in your hand, which is good. It is not flimsy and feels well-made. The extra blades come in a small container. There is rubber material on the knife that allows you to have a firm grip on it while using it and not have to worry about it falling out of your hand. It is a good tool for renovations and contractor work. This knife is not a retractable knife, so it is not meant for casual use, such as crafts or opening boxes. You must be careful while using it.

Multipurpose Cutter
I have already used this for drywall cutting, opening boxes, and trimming excess plastic from a model. Our last cutter fell apart so badly it was impossible to get it back in working order. Luckily, this one appears to be built with quality in mind, and when changing the blade out I had no issues if it falling apart or getting it back together. It comes with replacement blades so you’re not likely to run out anytime soon. The blades are nice and sharp, and the grips on the device are perfect for holding at multiple angles for various types of work.
