The Ultimate Peace of Mind for Anxious Cat Parents (And a Ton of Fun!)
Overall Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) As a devoted cat parent, I'm plagued by the classic questions every time I leave the house: Is he okay? Is he bored? Is he lonely? Did he just knock over that expensive vase? I've tried other pet cameras before, but they were always static, and my cat, like most, is not a statue. He roams. I would end up staring at an empty patch of carpet, which did nothing for my anxiety. Enter the Furbo 360° Cat Camera. I was intrigued by the 360-degree view and the smart features. After several weeks of use, I can say without hesitation that this is the single best "pet-tech" purchase I have ever made. It's a peace-of-mind machine. Section 1: Unboxing, Design, and Setup The setup process was impressively simple. I downloaded the Furbo app, plugged in the camera, and followed the on-screen instructions to connect it to my home Wi-Fi. The entire process took less than five minutes. The unit itself is sleek, modern, and sturdy. It doesn't look like a clunky piece of security tech; it blends right into my living room decor. The base is wide and heavy enough that my cat has (so far) shown no ability or interest in knocking it over. The treat-loading mechanism is simple, and I love the natural bamboo lid, which feels secure and "pet safe"—no easy-to-chew plastic bits. Section 2: The Hardware (What You Get Out of the Box) The core features of the camera itself are fantastic, even without the subscription. The 360° View: This is the absolute game-changer. Through the app, I can swipe to pan the camera a full 360 degrees. But the real magic is the auto-tracking. When the camera sees my cat move, it automatically follows him. I no longer lose him as he walks from the couch to his food bowl. I can see everything. Video & Audio Quality: The 1080p HD video is crystal clear during the day. The auto-night vision is equally sharp, allowing me to see his late-night "zoomies" in perfect black-and-white detail. The two-way audio is crisp with minimal lag. I can call his name, and he instantly looks up and often meows or chirps back. The Treat Tosser: This is my cat's favorite feature, by far. The app has a simple button to toss a treat. The Furbo makes a little "calling" sound (which my cat learned in less than a day), and then it quietly flings a treat across the room. It’s a wonderful way to interact and reward him for just being cute, even when I'm at the office. Section 3: The "Furbo Nanny" Paid Plan (The Smart Features) This is the most important part of the review. To unlock the smartest features—the proactive alerts, cloud recording, and advanced security—you need the paid "Furbo Nanny" subscription. I was hesitant at first, but after the free trial, I was completely sold. The hardware is the "eyes," but the subscription is the "brain." Here’s what made it an easy decision for me: Proactive, Specific Alerts: This isn't just a generic "motion detected" alert that my old security cam gave me for every dust bunny. Furbo Nanny gives me alerts I actually care about: Cat Activity Alert: I get a push notification specifically when my cat is running, playing, or jumping on furniture. I can quickly check in, see he's just being a cat, and go back to my work. Meowing Alert: This is my most-used feature. The Furbo detects the sound of meowing and alerts me. I can then open the app, see if he's just saying hello or seems distressed, and use the two-way audio to talk to him and calm him down. It has been a miracle for my "is he okay?" anxiety. Person Alert (Home Security): This is the "Home Security" feature. The camera can tell the difference between a pet and a person. I get a specific "Person Detected" alert, which is invaluable. I know exactly when the cat sitter arrives or, more importantly, if someone who isn't supposed to be there enters my apartment. Cloud Recording & "Kitty Diary": The Nanny service records these "events" (meowing, activity, people) and saves them to the cloud. My favorite part is the "Doggie/Kitty Diary." At the end of the day, the app creates a 60-second highlight reel of my cat's activities, set to cheerful music. It's beyond charming and saves me from having to scrub through hours of footage to find the cute moments. Section 4: The Verdict: True Peace of Mind The Furbo 360° Cat Camera is a premium product, and the subscription is an added cost. However, the value it provides is immense. I am no longer a high-anxiety cat parent. When I'm in a long meeting and my phone buzzes, I see a "Cat Activity" alert, open the app, watch my cat bat his favorite toy, toss him a treat, and close the app with a smile. It's a security camera and a pet interaction tool all in one. It has strengthened my bond with my cat and given me the freedom to be away from home without the guilt. If you, too, are an anxious pet parent, you cannot put a price on the peace of mind this device delivers. It's worth every penny.

Worth the subscription fee
I ordered one of these on Prime Day just for kicks and ended up loving it so much I recently bought one at full price for my mom. My husband is always worried about our cats when we go anywhere overnight and my mom had an upcoming anniversary trip (which she was already anxious about, since her kitties would be home alone). This is a perfect solution for keeping tabs on your cats anytime you’re away from home. Setup is straightforward, associate your cat to the robot. Our cats (and my moms) loved the feather toy so much we actually had to take it off the robot for a while- we were worried the cats would pull the robot down off the table 😂. The treat function is awesome and definitely encourages them to come within the camera range. I love getting notifications about motion detection- it’s like a little reminder to check on them. I understand the reviews that are frustrated with the subscription service required to use Furbo, but honestly, I think it’s worth the extra money to know our cats are safe and happy whenever we aren’t home with them. The device is well designed and pleasing to look at, and the plugin negates the need for a battery. Worth it, in my opinion

Doesn't stay connected, NOT WORTH IT
I made this purchase on September 23rd 2024 and am now writing a review on November 14th 2024. I intentionally waited a couple of months before reviewing this product. The quality of the camera, including night vision, is satisfactory. However, the sound quality could be improved. After approximately a month of usage, the motion detection feature began to deteriorate. It hardly detects or moves with my cats anymore. Initially, it functioned flawlessly, but recently it has significantly slowed down. Furthermore, the camera frequently disconnects from our Wi-Fi network. I was skeptical of other reviews mentioning random disconnections, but they proved to be accurate. The camera disconnects from our Wi-Fi even when the connection is active and all other devices remain connected. Although unplugging and replugging the camera temporarily resolves the issue, the frequency of these disconnections has increased. This is particularly problematic during weekends when we are away from home and want to check on our cats, but the camera is disconnected and we cannot reset it remotely. While I acknowledge the camera's positive aspects, I believe that the subscription cost and the initial camera cost warrant improvements in the areas mentioned above. Update 11-19-24** Literally disconnects constantly now. For almost $100/year? Seriously? Support just tells you to turn it off and back on. I've tried doing everything they reccomend and no luck. It was a great purchase for a about 3 months but after that it basically stops functioning.

Heavy duty velcro command strips will be your friend!
This camera has been an awesome tool for keeping track of my cats when I work long hours or go on weekend getaways. I love the interactive features like being able to talk to them and toss them treats, and the required subscription was reasonably priced for the 2-year option. Nice to have the extra security of the cameras too see if anybody enters my home too. Setup instructions were easy to follow, and it was easy to customize my settings on the app. Video quality is great, and clear even on night mode. The only negative is that one of my boys is too smart for his own good- within a few hours, he figured out that Furbo contained a nice reserve of cat treats, and he took to engaging in battle with it to knock it off the shelf and pry off the lid to self-dispense treats- so if you order this, I'd recommend also ordering heavy duty velcro command strips to tack it down BEFORE you have to worry about how much damage to the electronics your cat can inflict, as the provided adhesive was no match for my determined big boy. (Can verify that Furbo is incredibly durable, and even after having taken a couple dozen 6-foot falls, had no recognizable damage or diminished quality.) (Can also verify that the Furbo has limited usefulness when laying on its side on the floor after losing to my demon cat, hence the velcro.) Great product.

Cats love it!
It's super easy to setup and it's nice to be able to keep an eye on my cats when I'm not home, and I find the treat feature is just funny to me how my cats race to a treat before the other gets to it. Mine usually shoots out 2-5 treats at a time (it varies). I've been putting Temptations treats and the Friskies treats in and it works just fine. Occasionally, it might jam or not come out, but I just press the treat button again and it clears itself. I recorded my own sound with the words, "Treat, treat!" Since that is how I normally tell them I'm giving them a little snack. The speakerphone is very clear and every time I talk through it while watching them, my cats get very excited and happy. I haven't had any connection issues whatsoever, thankfully. I also got the Cat Cam with the subscription, and it's pretty useful. The app only has maybe a 1 second delay, 2 seconds at most, when I've tested it. The picture quality is great! The little teaser toy it came with is cute, but my cats don't care for it (because, cats). Overall, I LOVE this thing and it's one of the best purchases I've made for my cats. I highly recommend.

Top for treat cannister should not come off so easily
Absolutely love the camera and how it records nicely in HD. Also the microphone on the app so I can "talk" to my cats is great. As is the AI that the software uses to categorize my cats' movement. Now for the down side - the treat feeder... Of course my cats learned that treats are inside the barrel of the cam/tower...that's to be expected. But, of course, my cats also started knocking it over. Ok, that's to be expected maybe. But the device should be more bottom heavy or the top of the container should not come off so easily. My cats have knocked it over a handful of times and the top comes off and treats go all over. I literally may have to resort to jury rigging something to keep the top on and/or attaching some velcro strips to the bottom to keep it in place on a surface. Really surprised they made a top that pops off so easily.

Loki loves his Furbo
I love this for my cat! We've had to spend time away recently and ywas looking for something I could interact with him occasionally while I'm away. He loves to come sit in front of Furbo and wait for my call! What's so cute is when the Kitty Calm music comes on, he knows a treat is coming! I love the Nanny reports too! I would recommend highly!

*updated**fixed* no longer disconnects constantly
Original below. I contacted Furbo customer service and they responded promptly with directions for a hard reset. It worked and I have had no more problems for a few weeks now. 5 stars for customer service It started out great, I liked the video quality, the tracking of my pet and the option to alert me to meowing, smoke alarm etc. One negative is that it will not connect to a phone hot spot. Also, most cat treats are too small so it shoots out like 5 or 6 at a time. But now, a few months later, it disconnects almost every day. No reason, it comes back online after I unplug it for a second. Very annoying when I’m at work and can’t connect to check on my kitty. Furbo would be 5 stars if connectivity issues were fixed. Will be looking for another option.

You will LOVE this
This smart pet camera is absolutely amazing!!! It’s really very easy to set up and we have absolutely loved watching and interacting with our cat using it. The process is good IMO for what you’re getting, and whilst you need a subscription to be able to interact with your pet I still think it’s really good value for money. The picture quality is good too and it’s so easy to save photos and videos straight to your phone from the app.

disappointing
While Furbo is very good at spotting humans, it’s rather rubbish at spotting cats. I have a small apartment, the whole thing apart from the bedroom and bathroom can be seen on the screen. Yet the camera only reports my cat “walking” or “sleeping on the sofa” when they are directly in front of it. My cats are rather vocal, they frequently demanded attention, they got mine but Furbo did not pick up on any of it. Same as for destroying the sofa, when they sleep on it I get a report, but when my little interior designer decides to remodel Furbo turns a blind eye. The camera is supposed to follow your pet when it walks by, but this only works 50% of the time. As for the software, I have yet to find the language settings (this might be a me-issue) but for some reason I get a rather crappy mix of French and English. The only truely positive thing I can say is that the nightvision works great.
