Great pet door!
Excellent pet door! I have assembled the second such door along with the hub and the phone app. Can easily trace my cat whether he is in or out. Highly reliable.

Works great
Works great. Videos of raccoons and opossums failing to enter the house. After a day, cats figured out how to use.

Could definitely be better for the money
IMPORTANT: If you want to keep some pets in while allowing others to come and go, then you will have to install this thing backwards. This is because the door only has one set of sensors and it is primarily designed and meant to keep unwanted animals out. Installing it backwards means the electronic components will be exposed to the weather which is a downer, and may make connecting the door to the Internet hub more difficult. Also installing it this way will allow any animal that can fit to enter your home, which is a downer too but also useful if an indoor only pet some how makes an escape and then wants back in. Bottom line: I took off a star because of this awkwardness and the fact that it needs a sold separately hub to connect to the Internet as opposed to just having that hardware built into the door. For as much as everything costs it should be more versatile with two sets of sensors for coming AND going, as well as connecting to my wireless router wirelessly without the wired hub (again sold separately). Also I would prefer a version that plugs into a wall outlet instead of using batteries that will eventually and unpredictabily die. Some times using a wire is just better, especially if not using one for power on the door means needing two wires elsewhere for a sold separately Internet hub (one for power and an Ethernet cord to my wireless router). I would be willing to pay more for these better functionalities. If there were a better alternative I would go with that but this seems to be the best option for the time being. 🤷♂️ I'll update in the future if there are any problems but am hoping for a smooth experience.

Cats won’t use it - Door too hard to open
I HATE this door! If you are thinking about buying it, be sure that your cat doesn’t mind pushing really, really hard against the door. It does not open easily and my three cats just won’t push that hard. They put their paws through it but are defeated with how forcefully it pushes back. They don’t understand pushing their head against something so hard to open. I mean, who would. It’s not necessary for the functionality of the features for the door to be so frustratingly difficult to open. There is no training mode where the suction effect is turned off so no easy way to train them to go through the door using treats. Treats only work if they can smell them and get their head close to the treat. In order to do this you have to hold the door open which defeats the purpose of trying to get them to get used to pushing through it. I hate, hate, hate it. Total waste of money for me. I have to tape it open to get them to come in. This is getting them used to feeling the door on their backs, but when I have the door taped that low, they can’t get out. Plus, it doesn’t teach them to push hard against the door. This door SUCKS!!! I wish I had been able to get it installed earlier, but unfortunately, my handyman wasn’t available until after the 30 day return window closed or I’d return it in a heartbeat. The main reason I wanted this door instead of the flap door I was using that allowed any animal to come in and out was to keep an outdoor semi-feral cat that I TNR’d out of the house. She picks on my girls, fights with them and they don’t like her. Well, let me just say taping the door open doesn’t keep her out and, because it’s see through and the last one was opaque, she’s even less afraid to come in through this door. All in all, we spent probably $500 dollars on this door: hub, door, wall tunnel and installation. I read the other reviews where people said that their cat just refused to push through it. I thought because my cats were already used to a cat door that the resistance of this door wouldn’t be a deterrent. I WAS WRONG. So very wrong. I’ve spent hours with high value treats: Churu, freeze-dried minnows, fish, but it’s very difficult to entice them when the door has to be closed and the treat is on one side and they are on the other. The scanner works okay, but if you have to tape the door open for training purposes it doesn’t tell you who came in and who went out. So now I have a hole in my wall, an unhappy husband, $500 dollars gone that I didn’t really have and less security than I had before. I thought it would be great to have a door that keeps out unwanted cats and has a curfew so that a cat sitter wouldn’t have to manually close/lock the door, but right now, this set up is not going to work for a cat sitter. I can’t say this enough, I HATE, this door. If you buy it, install it immediately and start trying to train your cats to go through it immediately so that you are able to return it if your cats refuse to push through it. I’ll probably have it removed and try to sell it on eBay, or something, but I’m sure I’ll take a bath. I had to give this review at least one star, but if not for the rules it would get no stars. I’m so angry right now. Why not have a training mode people?

The use of technology in the whole wide world!
This pet door changed my life. I had a bad raccoon problem and would either have to lock the cat in for the night or leave the old cat door open but put away the food. I could never stay at my boyfriend’s house because I had to manage the animal situation. Now... No more raccoons in my kitchen: my cat no longer feels violated, I’m not feeding the wild kingdom, cleaning up after them, and worrying about them finding the guinea pigs in the bedroom. My cat is thrilled! He can come and go when he pleases and own the neighborhood . I can sleep! My cat no longer wakes me up at 5am to be let outside or because the raccoons have eaten all his food. I’m not wandering the neighborhood trying to find him and lock him up in the evening. I can go away for a night and not worry! The app tells me that my cat made it inside safely and so far no tailgaters! Thank you so much for inventing this amazing pet door!!! So worth every penny to buy and professionally install in my wall.

The only show in town, but pricy wasted potential
Updates* *Added one star for outstanding customer service. I'm keeping this because there are no good alternatives out there, but it's a deeply disappointing product with a lot of unrealized potential. Pros: • It exists • more or less does what it says on the tin. Cons: • can not program cats separately (all added cats have same privileges.. the only way to restrict a cat is not to add them to the flap at all) *update: the smaller cat flap version *can* Program individual pets but this one apparently not. If you need that feature, and your nail as will fit, go for the smaller one. • very clunky app • magnets that keep flap closed are too strong, especially for training cat. • Flap is not motorized and can catch the cats tail when closing (especially with strong magnets) • doesn't work at all if too close to metal (this is more down to physics, but worth noting) specifically, it would not work with a sliding door pet flap insert with an aluminum frame. • feels chintzy given the price (everything, including the latches and hinges, is thin plastic) • Buttons and built in screen are dated and unintuitive • requires hub • glitch whereby same cat appears differently for cat flap and feeder. Use case: Actually using this indoors... we have an elderly cat that needs constant access to special food or she throws up. We tried an automatic feeder but she gets stressed with other cats around and won't eat. using this cat flap we could give her private access to the bedroom to eat in peace whenever she likes. It works for this, but only barely. I wanted to add all the cats in the family, so we could program them to be let out if they got stuck in the room, and we could know who was approaching the door etc. given the underlying tech this seems entirely feasible, but it's simply not implemented in the app (same is true for their connect feeder). The only solution is not to add the other cats at all. (*or to buy the smaller cat flap connect) luckily, by default the latch is configured such that anything can push the flap open from inside to go outside, so it works for us, But let's say you wanted to keep one cat in because you'll need to be taking them to the vet, but let other cats out? Sorry no can do. I'll update this review if there's ever a firmware/app update to address this but I'm not holding my breath. The flap itself is a regular rigid flap that works with gravity like any other cheap cat flap. the hinge is just part of the plastic flap and prone to snapping, just like any other cheap cat flap. however it has strong magnets at the bottom which are required to get it to align so that when the cheap plastic latches come up from the bottom the flap is in the right place between them and they actually work. The magnets are so strong I had to remove one of them so that my elderly cat could nudge the flap open. with a missing magnet it doesn't reliably close to the correct position, but this happens more often over the latch that would prevent exiting, which we don't use, so in our specific use case it's not a deal breaker. At this price point I'd much rather see: - a motorized flap (this would eliminate the need for magnets and would be kinder to cat tails) - a flap with a separate reinforced hinge less prone to snapping - an option for continuous power - hub free (thread?) alternative - discrete controls/settings for each pet

Works so well
Love this pet door, my cats quickly adapted to using it. I really like being able to control when they can go out

When I first got the door it had had connection issues but now it is great
When I first got the door it had connection issues from hub to door but they must be working on it via updates because now it works perfect. I have two dogs one is an expert going to the door but the other a little hesitant but they go in and out as the please. I lock it at night on schedule so they can’t get out during that time. I did have to buy them a collar because their tracking chips would not open the door consistently but that is not an issue because I have gps collars on them anyway.

Amazing product!
It’s really an amazing product. It’s a bit big so it can fit a bigger cat or a little dog. It’s easy to set up and use. But for better use of the product it is best if used with the WiFi Hub to connect it to the application on your phone to give you full control over the device from anywhere in the world.
