Bluford Series 20-Book Boxed Set (Books 1-20)

At Christmas, I sponsored a homeless 18-24 yr. old youth, and this was a book set she wanted. It meant a lot to her, and she was very grateful. If you serve and like to help others, someone in a ministry like the Covenant House or anywhere that allows teens and young adults for the long term, this is a great gift to donate. God Bless!

I found out about these books when my former students wrote me a letter telling me about how they could not put these books down.I wish I would have known about this series when I taught reluctant inner city readers. There are a lot of themes and issues that my students personally dealt with. I know they would love eaten these up! My students had a very hard time relating to stereotypical white characters that were nothing like themselves, I love how these books represent a lot of real things kids deal with and the characters themselves represented African American kids- which many young adult books don't. It is very relatable. I related to Darcy when she starts meeting with her dad for the first time. I, myself, had the awkward experience of being a teen rebuilding a relationship with a formerly absentee dad and it was described spot-on.The writing is a little cheesy- but young adult often is.

For starters it came when it was scheduled to so that’s an amazing start. I’ve been wanting these books since I was in middle school, once I saw that they was available I quickly purchased them no hesitation. I guess I’m one of the few that received an extra, like I have 21 instead of 20 but I’m not complaining at all!!! This is one of the best things I’ve purchased from Amazon!

I bought this series for my nephew. He loves to read and started getting into this series while at school. He was checking out the books at the school library. But he had to wait on the fourth installment to become available to continue. I purchased the series as a reward for his great grades. He now spends all of his free time reading these books. He no longer plays on his tablet. He is instead lost in the stories in this series. The books came quickly and packaged very well. They are so pristine, that he hates to crease the binding. With children needing to learn how to read more and use their imagination, this may be the best purchase I have made in quite awhile. Did I mention that the price was fantastic? Well it was more than reasonable.

I can only remember a few of the books from middle school, beyond excited to find these! had to get the complete set.

Read the series when I was in middle school so I bought it for my son because there are some life lessons in these books that make for a great read for preteens and teens.

The best high interest, low level fiction series ever! I teach middle school, and this year my classes consisted of those most in need. I was introduced to this series by a student, freshly back from boot camp, who asked if I had any of the books in this series. I had trouble keeping them on my shelf! The students checked them out, READ them, discussed them with each other, and swapped books. My school library is purchasing a set with library binding.

Looooove. So glad i got the set. I read a few in high school didn't know there was even 20+ books so most of these i'll be reading for the first time.
