Excellent monitor for the money, very happy!
I was a bit skeptical with this monitor because of the price, but it proved to be an excellent buy. For starters, I'm not using it for gaming. I'm a software developer, and I needed more desktop to have multiple applications open. Things I like: it has a very narrow bezel, and a matte screen that minimizes reflections from overhead lights. It's also bright, and text is very crisp. There are multiple color modes, as well as a custom mode; the colors are vibrant. The stand is very adjustable, for both tilt and height, and the monitor can rotate between landscape and portrait. It's also built very well, and the stand has a very solid base (although the base is a bit large). Also, the monitor does not swivel on the base, so if you have it off to one side (as I do, because it's a second monitor), you need to turn the base. Being a big rectangular shape, it tends to get in the way of other things on my desk. I have two of these monitors: one on a Dell Precision M6500 laptop, and the other on a 2012 MacMini. The monitor came with cables for VGA, HDMI, DP and DVI, so connecting to the Dell was no problem (needed to use DP to get the full resolution). For the MacMini, I had to buy a $8 mini-DP-to-DP cable, which I ordered from Amazon with the monitor. The 2W stereo speakers work well for video conferencing and most applications with audio. For gaming, you'd likely want something more robust. Finally, the Picture-in-Picture feature worked great with my Amazon FireStick, although I needed the HDMI cable extender as the FireStick would not connect directly to the monitor's HDMI due to its location. But, the 2-inch extension cable fixed that. Also, when in PiP mode, there is no audio from the FireStick. You must switch PiP inputs (make the FireStick the primary input) to get audio. You only get audio from the primary video in, or the line-in. Bottom line: great monitor, easy to read, crisp text and vivid color, well made, decent audio, PiP mode, matte screen, and a great price.

Updated Review: Even better!!!!
I have tried three other monitors over the last year and they've been terrible, all sent back. I was trying to get a 32" screen in the price range of this 27" Asus, and, no surprise, life doesn't work that way. Yes, you can get biggers screens for the $350 range that have the specs, but they'll have washed-out, bland colors or heavy backlighting bleeding through, or both. This Asus PB277Q however is just lovely, sharp colors and deep black blacks without the horrible backlight whites of the cheaper screens coming through and milking everything up. I'm elated and the price at $276 was a steal. Highly recommended, I'm home at last.Updating this review a couple months later: I like it even more!I've spent the last week with a heavier than usual workload and realize on Friday I've been adoring this monitor all week anew, lol! I have to have two browsers open and sitting side by side so I can review back and forth, and the resolution on this is high enough to allow this with ease. I went years with my older 1080 monitor grousing because the edge of one browser was always hanging over the other. It's crisp and lovely, not a problem, amazing resolution -- how can this thing be so cheap? I returned 2 32" monitors for really shoddy display quality even though they were higher resolution than this. Quality is a treat in this world, you have to really work to find it. Work no more, I hope good things are befalling the quality engineers who make this quality monitor. Buy it!

Excellent Display for writers and most casual users
I had an earlier ASUS monitor for over seven years, and decided to closely review the current models for a larger screen size and increased number of resolution options. The WQHD level of resolution appeared most acceptable in price and available features. Bluelight was a powerful incentive, but the overall quality seen in the Amazon reviews greatly helped me to decide over other ASUS models. With a minimal usage of the PB277Q, I remain a devout Asus advocate. Hopefully, this model will provide the same dedicated service as its predecessor, the ASUS VH236H. Since most of my applications are predominately text with occasional graphics or spreadsheet, I have no interest in games, except for chess. The text is exactly what I had read in the reviews, and I gleefully love reading the text’s quality. The ASUS PB277Q is precisely the screen for writers. I cannot believe the enhancement 2560x1440 can bring to the written word. For writers, the 75Hz provides flickerless display. The graphics is superb and simply the best quality I’ve seen.Last, for sheer quality and affordability, I highly recommend the ASUS PB277Q over comparable ASUS models and any major competitor.[edit 5 years later] I’ve been a Mac user since 1982. Never encountered a problem with the M1 or M2 Pro macs using HDMI cabling. In fact, I upgraded to the new HDMI version 2.1 in August with no problem. Please note: I have used the ASUS without any special procedure or Mac-trick.

Great Monitor, Great Price
Was skeptical due to the reviews over this product. But I came to realization that not everyone will be happy with this product. Some people will always be bitter rather the product is actually good or not. Heres an honest opinion over the productPROS- Great Quality- Great Design- Amazing Colors (Have on sRGB mode)- VESA compatible- ASUS brand- Stand is pure amazing, glides smoothly- Button Layout is great- Stands toe-to-toe with higher end monitors- Looks great- Feels HUGE sometimes even if its only 27". You really dont need a monitor bigger than this. This is honstly the sweet spot due to its big size and good PPI ratioCONS- Backlight bleeding, but its only notice able about 3% of the time as most of the time its unnoticeable. It has completely gone away for me now a few weeks after purchase (Or atleast i think it has).- 75Hz isnt noticeable at all over 60Hz. Its just marketing tbh.

Excellent 1440p display!
I bought this monitor after getting a late 2009 model Mac Pro 4,1. It had a decent monitor, but I noticed the Nvidia Geforce gt 120 was capable of putting out a higher resolution then the monitor that came with it. So upon my research I considered a Samsung curved display, but ultimately came back to this one. I did however have issues with the dvi port. I used the highest quality of cables and what it came with and just kept having an issue. When the computer would turn on, along the way it would turn to snow, then I turned the monitor off and back on again and it was fine. Every time I turned my computer on it would do that. Then I purchased an ATI Radeon HD 5770 to upgrade my computer a little bit. It wouldn't turn on at all. I checked the old monitor to make sure and it was fine. What finally solved the problem was using the display port on the monitor instead of the dvi port. Now it works flawlessly smooth and clear at everything. Problem solved. So, my conclusion is that the dvi port has some sort of manufacturer defect on my particular monitor. Since the display port works fine, it doesn't bother me. I have never tested the speakers since I have nice computer speakers, so, I can't give review on those. The final verdict is that this is a great monitor and works excellent with Mac OS X! Mac or PC, and this monitor is a good choice if you're looking for a 1440p display. Decently priced for the quality too. I was initially worried that it was only an LCD and not LED that it would look pixelated, but it doesn't. The only concern is that if you end up with a problem with a cable port and something seems wrong, have it exchanged for another one, but in a world of mass produced products, it's bound to happen some time. Just buy it if you're thinking about it.
