MKSConcert Shruti Box - Teak Wood - Natural Color - 13 Drone (PDI-AGB)

I was somewhat hesitant to buy from abroad, with all the possible hassle should it not have been up to standard. But on arrival it looked fine, and I'm pleased with the tone. I'm not an expert on Shruti boxes, so I'm not really able to make comparisons with others - however listening to various demonstrations on youtube, I think this one holds its own against most of those. The box arrived in good time, and certainly less than the advertised timing. So all good, I think.

The media could not be loaded. In this video I have played 2 different keys to show the difference in sound.The key E rings a metallic noise as if some parts came off inside. I only used the box for a few times after some time away I was surprised to notice this. I have never traveled with the box and always treated it respectfully while playing it at home. It seems there was poor crafting skills from the manufacturer.Unfortunately I am past the refund time-window, I am not happy with this purchase as I have spent an important sums of money for what is seems a faulty instrument and repairing it now will cost me a lot more.Don't invest your money in this instrument cause there is not guarantee it'll be working in a few months time.

This is a Fraud. I want my money back. I have many instruments from MKS and this is not from them and not profesional quality. Is an instrument for tourist and I'm a profesional musician. I lost my phone and I was out my country for 9 weeks so i was not be able to open my account because the doble factor authentication so I could not communicate this before. I want my money back or the exchange of the shruti box for a real MKS one. In honor and without prejudice UCC 1-308

Beautiful sound and workmanship.

Stopped working after a week

I am loving my shruti box. It's a thing of beauty. I have never owned or played one before so I cannot comment on the length of sustain, but the quality of sound is marvellous. I use it for Mantra and Kirtan, and the vibration feels like it envelops me and sends me into some beautiful states of open hearted peaceful consciousness. Spontaneous sounds are emerging from me as I hum along. There is one technical flaw with my particular box. When I open the d note flap there is a rattle. Luckily this is one of the notes I have little requirement of, but if I had bought it in the UK I would probably contact the seller about this. This is why I only gave it 4 stars. For the price, however, I am delighted.

Amateur depuis longtemps de la musique drone/bourdonne/transe, je m’initie au monde des shrutis… et je ne suis pas déçu ! Un son chaleureux, apaisant, et dépaysant qui, dès les premières notes, touche quelque chose de très profond en moi. Les accords sont faciles à trouver et à inventer, le soufflet est réactif et assez sensible.Je ne peux pas faire la comparaison entre cet instrument et un autre au prix (bien) plus cher, mais pour ce prix, je suis très content de la qualité de l’instrument. Sans doute, les shrutis plus hautes de gamme auront une finition plus soignée, avec un meilleur choix de bois, et utilisent un vernis qui fait moins plastique, moins cheap (mais qui semble quand même offrir une bonne protection). (Je lui donnerai plutôt 4,5 étoiles si c'était possible, car la finition est un peu pénalisante, mais à moins de 105 euros livré, il mérite les 5 quand même.)Je viens de recevoir l’instrument, donc je ne peux pas commenter plus : est-ce qu’il est (trop) fragile ? Est-ce qu’il va tenir la route ? J’ai l’intention de m’en servir pour des performances, j’aurai des réponses dans quelques semaines ou mois…À noter que le shruti est livré avec une housse de protection (non rembourrée), ce que j’apprécie beaucoup.À noter aussi que l’instrument a été livré dans un temps record : 11 jours de l’Inde à la France. L’instrument est arrivé bien emballé, livré par la Poste, et sans problème de douane.
