Ranked 2 out of 4 sub-$20 wired earbuds tested
[***UPDATE after six months of using both the JBLs and the Marleys (I returned the others):SOUND: The Marleys have consistently better sound than the JBLs across music genres -- crisper highs, deeper bass, and a fuller spectrum overall...in fact their excellent sound quality rivals some much pricier earbuds I've had and doesn't disappoint in any way.BUILD: The JBLs' design is better suited for use while exercising, being outdoors, etc. They're water-resistant and can endure a lot of jostling before they dislodge, and the magnets are a handy feature for storing, so there is definitely a role for them. That said, the build quality of the Marley pair punches well above its price point and with the woven cables, wood-capped buds, etc. has even a bit of a subtle luxe feel to it.SUM: If I were to choose just one of these, it would be the Marleys. I'd pay $75-100 for these and still feel that it was a good value. (Don't get any ideas, Marley folks...)***]I compared four low-cost (under $20) wired in-ear earbud sets:JBL Endurance Run 2House of Marley Smile JamaicaSkullcandy JibLodos OmnitoneI listened to pieces from four contrasting genres that I enjoy, represented by:Heart "Magic Man" (rock)EBTG "Wrong" (techno)Coltrane & Hartman "My one and only love" (jazz)Ginastera "Estancia Suite: Danza Final - Malambo" (classical orchestral)On each of these pieces, I rated each earbud (1-10) separately for clarity of treble, depth of bass, richness of middle, and overall "fullness" of the sound spectrum. The aggregate results for sound quality were as follows:1. 7.9 Marley2. 7.6 JBL3. 7.4 Ludos4. 6.7 SkullSome individual observations about sound:None of them had much trouble with treble (not surprisingly). Marley & Ludos were the clearest, producing a crystalline "sparkle" across all genres, especially Rock & Jazz, but none of the earbuds disappointed on treble. The biggest differentiator was bass: Marley & JBL produced noticeably deeper bass than the other two, especially the Skullcandy.Although they were not especially good on Classical (scoring better only than Skullcandy), the Marleys were fantastic for Jazz; JBLs were very strong as well. Marleys were best for both Tech and Rock -- although the sound they produced there didn't surprise me as much as it did on Jazz -- with JBLs being second for both.Build quality for both the Marleys and JBLs is both very good -- I'd even call the Marleys "fun," given a few thoughtful and tasteful elements they added -- with the JBLs gaining an edge due to water resistance, fuller mounting construction that allows earlobe to carry most of the weight (= more comfortable) and magnetized buds that will help minimize clutter, risk of getting caught on something; my only build suggestion would be a 90 (not 45) degree plug to minimize exposure to getting hit. Ludos construction was decent, just not quite to the level of the other two. Skullcandy build quality is certainly adequate for a $10 pair of earphones.I am keeping both the Marleys and the JBLs: Marleys for use in home/office, JBLs for exercise/outdoors/travel.

You’ll snap the wire before the are pulled out
They are a mix of the apple air pod pros with their interchangeable ear tips for proper fitting and the yurbuds shaped bud body, nice and comfortable, considerable sounds deadening, the will only fall out of your ear if you pull up, they seem to last (I’ve been using them for a little over a month) it’s a standard 3.5mm headphone jack with the JBL bend.they are like a reasonably priced, wired AirPod.Nice set

One of the best wired earbuds
I love these headphones. I am horrible at keeping track of earbuds, especially the wireless ones so I am experienced dozens of different kinds. My laptop's Bluetooth stopped working so I ordered this pair of JBL's since I didn't have a wired pair. Luckily there was a price special, and delivered overnight, awesome! The sound is absolute premium JBL quality. They are well constructed and include three, different sized, ear cushions. With help of a USB-C type adapter I am able to comfortably use them with my phone - the wire is long enough to provide a sense of security that you can reach for something without having to move the connected device or worrying it's going to fall of the desk or table by accident. The one button control works well, on both phone and laptop. If you need a ridiculously low priced wired set of earbuds - get these. The sound is crisp, delivers good midrange sounds, the highs come in without causing tinnitus and when the bass drops it doesn't distort the artists lyrics. When your little sister, big brother or loving significant wants to be a nag - twist the buds clockwise into your ears until they feel locked in, and slightly turn up the volume. They are shaped to provide natural noise cancellation. Additionally wear them backwards with the wire looped around your ears and go for a quick run on the treadmill or workout to your favorite mix without the buds falling out.I'll probably buy another pair just in case I lose this one.

Best wired headphones I've ever had!
I never write reviews, but these headphones are SO GOOD I needed to say something! They stay in my ears, they are versatile (you can flip them upside down to loop over your ear), they are comfortable, and the sound is shockingly amazing! The microphone is also good, and there is a button for pausing. The only minor thing I don't prefer is there is no volume toggle on the microphone, like most wired headphones. It's been so hard to find quality, comfortable and long-lasting wired headphones that are affordable. I am so glad I stumbled upon these!

Smooth and clear, with no hype—great sound for the money.
These JBL buds have ousted my previous go-to budget buds for the last 15 years—the similar offering from Philips. These JBLs are much more refined with smoother response and no hyped highs or lows to my ear.I find the fit much more secure as well, a big bonus for long hours of use on Zoom calls, daily work or coaching calls, hikes, during meditations, or during sleep.FWIW, I regularly use high end headphones and audio gear: Magnepan, Grado, Neumann, as well as AirPods and the Sony WH-1000XM4.These buds are a very nice featherweight complement to these heavier, bulkier, less comfortable and battery-hungry options. It’s ridiculous but I often choose the JBLs over everything else that’s available to me—especially in hot/sweaty weather.I have lightning and usb-c adapters permanently attached so I can move from iPhone to iPad to laptop quickly.

Great earbuds, especially for the price
So far, these have been the best wired earbuds I've owned in this price range. The most comfortable, the best sound quality, and the best build quality. The mic also works well on calls and meetings. Happy with this purchase.
