Better than Insinkerator
I had an Insinkerator Hot Water Dispenser and it was trouble from day one. The faucet would stick on, it was a pain to install with such short hoses, 3 tank connections and their customer service was terrible. The Insinkerator failed (tank rusted through) after a few years and I told myself I wasn't going to buy another based on my experiences. I read the reviews on this Waste King and they seemed really good so I purcheased it. It was a lot cheaper than the other brand also.It is really nicely made. Heavy faucet (I think it's built out of all brass) and the tank seems nicely constructed. I followed the directions and had it installed in about 90 minutes (that included removing the old one). All of the parts were included to do the install. I did have to buy a 1/4" copper tubing bender to bend the copper lines in the direction I needed for connections to the tank. After installing it and filling the tank, I plugged it in and had hot water in about 7 minutes. It operates very quietly and has been great so far.I contacted their customer service regarding warranty information (what I would need in the event something happened) and they were very helpful. All in all, I am happy so far. Should something arise, I will update this review.**UPDATE** 2-2-2015: We're coming up on 5 years now and everything is still working as it should. Very happy.

Piece of Junk
This is the second one of this hot water dispenser. After about a couple of months it fails to dispense water. I have the Kitchen Aid dispenser and I love it.

not happy
I purchased this Hot Water Faucet and tank on Nov 16, it is now Jan 3 and I still cannot use it. The water that comes from the tank smells and tastes like bleach. I have been in touch with the company and they agreed to replace the tank, This was finally done on Dec 29, but alas there is no improvement in the taste and smell. So I am waiting for a second replacement tank, will update review in future

Good for the price
I bought this two replace a 25 year old ISE hot water faucet this one caught my eye because it was much cheaper than the ISE one. It was easy to install directions were fair not great, the faucet part is very nice looking appears to be all metal the water gets very hot and it does have a thermostat control that works great. My two small problems with this device are it is a little noisy it makes a noise almost like a jet going overhead, not loud you have to be standing near it to hear it and the discharge line is not presurized like my old one you have to wait a seconds for the water to come out of the tap.

Some useful info below
Out of the box, it looks like a quality item. Some things to consider:It is 1300 Watts, thus making it about 11 amps. Some things I have read said 780 watts. More is better, so I am glad. Certainly needs it's own circuit. I put mine on a 20 amp circuit with GFI outlet under the sink. The faucet has two 1/4 inch copper pipes, about 18 inches long. Also, a larger floppy plastic hose. The water goes from the source to one of the copper tubes, then to the faucet valve, then down the other copper tube to the heater tank. The hot water gets to the faucet spout via the larger floppy tube. The water is never pressurized because the valve (on the faucet) is before the tank. When you push on the lever, cold water flows into the bottom of the tank, displacing hot water out the top of the tank to the faucet. Between the top heater tank outlet and the faucet spout is just the large plastic tubing, no valve. There is nothing included for tapping into the cold water line. Somehow you have to get your cold water to the 1/4 inch copper pipe. They do have 2 quick connects, one for each of the open ends of the copper pipes.I am hooking mine to my reverse osmosis water filter. I was disappointed that it had so much copper pipe, RO water tends to eat copper. I think it will be all right, though. By the time it eats the pipes, it will probably be time to replace the system anyway. One thing to note: This hot water dispenser, like all other makes and models, does not let you lock the faucet open. I think this is a safety thing, but it is really annoying when you are trying to fill a large teakettle or pot. You have to hold the valve open throughout the filling. Again, all hot water dispensers are like that. How hot can it get? It says in the manual it can get to 200 F. However, it will sputter and hiss at this temp. I carefully adjusted the temp to just below sputtering, then measured the water temp with a digital cooking thermometer. 155 F. That's about as hot as you can reasonably keep it. 155 F.Great for oatmeal, but not optimum for most tea (see below)or coffee (200 F). If you like white tea, you are in luck.Type Water Temp. Steep Time InfusionsWhite Tea 65 to 70 °C (149 to 158 °F) 1-2 minutes 3Yellow Tea 70 to 75 °C (158 to 167 °F) 1-2 minutes 3Green Tea 75 to 80 °C (167 to 176 °F) 1-2 minutes 4-6Oolong Tea 80 to 85 °C (176 to 185 °F) 2-3 minutes 4-6Black Tea 99 °C (210 °F) 2-3 minutes 2-3Pu'er Tea 95 to 100 °C (203 to 212 °F) Limitless SeveralHerbal Tea 99 °C (210 °F) 3-6 minutes VariedI drink a lot of black and herbal tea. The water coming to my faucet is about 50 F, to boil a full kettle take 13 minutes (gas stove). If I use the pre-heated water, it takes about 3.5 minutes. I usually just boil two large mugs worth at a time, so the boil time is now always under 2 minutes, where it used to be 8 minutes. Nice.Makes boiling water for any dish way faster, about 1/4 the time. Hot water is also nice for cleaning.Hope this info was helpful, and good luck.

Nice upgrade
Bought this unit to replace a 7 year old InSinkErator that developed a slow leak. The price for the Waste King was about $30 less than a comparable InSinkErator so decided to give it a try. The new unit shipped sooner than promised and came with a hand written thank you note - nice touch! The goose-neck faucet was lot taller than the old however, now that I've used it for several months, am delighted as it's much more practical than the low profile faucets. It does indeed take a few seconds for the water to flow but I'm now used to this too. I suspect the capacity is larger than the old model as I'm nearly able to fill the tank on my carpet cleaner - couldn't even come close with the InSinkErator. It took a couple of tries to get the tank mounted properly. You need to be gentle unfolding the copper tubes and also make certain that the quick attach connectors fit snugly. The only real issue I had was with the rubber tube that delivers the hot water to the faucet. When shipped, the tube was kinked and that became a weak point. When I would run the water, the tube would kink even more which caused the faucet to 'spurt' out very hot water. After I finally settled on the tank mount, I cut the hose to length to make a straight run and that's all it needed. No more spurts and I get hot water within 2 seconds every morning.Overall, I'm delighted with this product.
