Great gift idea for model makers
Gift for a friend who loves planes. Not his first model and I’m sure will not be his last. Easy to assemble for a model maker not for a beginner. Size and quality as described. The attention to detail is remarkable. It is durable but fragile if you allow little children to handle it.

Almost impossible to build
Fun to build. Some peaces way to small. I even bought the tool kit, and used magnifying glass. If you get the bends wrong, is impossible to complete. Instructions are very vague. Smaller peaces break way to easy.

It’s BEAUTIFUL!!!!
This model is beautiful! So complex and filled with detail! Metal earth is an amazing job with the lazar cutting, and prints. This is hours of enjoyment and a beautiful display piece. But a heed of *warning*! This one is HARD(especially the nose cone)!! Not for beginners. I have done tons of metal earths, and this one is not for the faint of heart. I absolutely recommend this one for people who enjoy modding and for people looking for a challenge. 10/10

WW2 planes just don’t come out well
I love Metal Earth and have always had a soft spot for WW2 planes, however Metal Earth has a problem designing WW2 planes and the B-17 is no different. All of these models are difficult and require skill and tools to put together (that’s what makes them so fun!) but for this and other planes from the same era the finished product just isn’t as impressive as say the F-22 or F-14.

Intricate and detailed
Medium difficulty but a good challenge.

Hard, but high quality
I've done over 40 of this metal models, and the paint job and quality of laser cutting on this one is the highest. Having said that, like the other reviewer, I did have a hard time with some joints because it was so intricate. Level of difficulty is hard, takes lots of skill and experience not to foul it up. And I did use a little hidden super glue. But the finished product is very cool!

Good price and quality
Nice product. I bought this to enhance a silent auction basket. It definitely helped boost the sale price.

The tail section gunnery folds will break as part C27 is too delicate.
I will preface by saying this. I have built 20 successful metal earth models so far with most being on the harder difficulty. I have made mistakes and consequently used super glue very few times to fix broken tabs. I have only had to fix 1 or 2 really small tabs in 5 models with superglue and none in recent models. I have gotten pretty darn good. All that being said, this model is just as bad as the P-47. Step 12 is drawn VERY poorly and while I can figure it out since I've built a few models already, it requires to fold part C27 in such an insane way it's almost impossible to not break it. The tabs barely fit since they have to be made very accurately and it's absolutely insane that the part is not duplicated once or twice on a metal sheet. I would end up missing an important part of the rear gunner on the tail of the model so I ended up tossing the model away like I did the P-47.This is such a cool looking model that I want to build so bad but I have decided that unless they fix delicate tab folds in the WWII plane models or give duplicate pieces for the small folds, I will no longer be wasting my money buying them. I suggest buying many of their other models as they are very fun to build. I just wish I could get a replacement kit or see a forum where people discuss how they build this piece or even some advice from the people who designed this kit because I just regret getting this model over others that I could have successfully built as I have had no such problems with models with even greater difficulty than this one.
