Revant Replacement Lenses for Oakley Half Jacket

I replaced dark grey (non-Iridium) lenses in my 7 year old Oakley Half Jackets. After reading some reviews I had some concern about whether I was ordering the right lens, but using information found on Revant's website I was able to confirm that I did not have the 2.0 or XLJ frame and was ordering the correct lens.The stealth black lenses I received are a little darker and thinner than the OEM lenses. I prefer the darker tint so this is a welcome difference. Comparing these to some other polarized lenses I confirmed that these lenses are polarized. My OEM lenses are not polarized and this may contribute to the darker appearance.Some reviewers have reported these lenses are thinner than the OEM lenses and they are 0.8mm thick compared to the OEM 1.3mm. I was concerned this might allow the lenses to rattle in the frames but they fit tight with no wiggle. They popped into the frame with no more force than it took to remove the OEM lenses.My primary use for these glasses is running and it's humid where I live. I was used to the OEM lenses fogging up for most of my run but I find the Revant lenses actually resist fogging quite well. If I intentionally fog them by directing my breath on them during my run they clear up almost immediately. I hadn't expected them to be anti-fogging so that's a bonus.The Amazon description says "Impact resistant (exceeds ANSI Z80.3 and EN 1836:2005 standards)". My research indicates these are UV transmittance standards and not impact resistance which is ANSI Z87.1. This is where the thinner lens may be inferior so if your application requires some degree of ballistic protection or impact resistance you may need to do your own research.For non-critical use I would not hesitate to buy these lenses. They fit right, they're polarized and anti-fogging, for a fraction of the OEM price. I took one star off because of the misleading information on impact resistance.

As always, with so many negative as well as positive reviews posted on these replacement lenses, I ordered a set to find out for myself, ,and I am glad I did.The Revant Oakley Half jacket replacement lenses fit just fine. Somewhat thinner than the original Oakley lenses, they still insert just as easily or with no more difficulty than it takes to insert the Oakley lenses. They are identical in that regard.With the Revants installed, I twisted the Oakley frame, flexed it numerous times, shook it. No matter what I did to it, the lenses stayed in place, never fell out. They are as solid as the OEM lenses.Definitely polarized (verified). Ordered Stealth Black. A dark, somewhat (faint) blueish tint to them. Perfectly fine, fit just like the original lenses. No complaints.Have no way to verify UV protection.

Pros:1. They fit.2. They are polarized.Cons:1. They have a very rose colored profile. Everything seems pink when looking through them.2. This rose effect is less towards the very top of the lenses, which means if you're looking out of the top of the lens, you'll see less pink. I find it a little disorienting at times, but it's not the end of the world.3. They have a couple of lens flare issues. I'll occasionally see little lens flare circles -- I never got those with the stock Oakley lenses.4. The soft case is really thin -- noticeably thinner than the stock Oakley soft case.Pro/Con1. They are much more mirrored than the stock Oakley lenses.2. They are much brighter blue.Overall: I won't buy these again. I'll spend the extra money and buy the Oakley ones.

These knock-off replacement lenses are absolutely terrible to install. The lenses are too thin for the little crevices on the Half Jacket Oakleys I own, so they wiggle and fall out frequently. I ended up using a small amount of super glue to keep them in place.Besides that, the polarized lens is really nice to look through. It greatly reduces lens flare and direct/reflected light. In that respect, they were an upgrade over my old lenses, even if my old ones were in good shape.

The lens are no where near a perfect fit for the Oakley Half Jacket sunglasses. While they while work, they regularly pop out of the frames. The lens are much smaller in size and don’t provide the same coverage as the original lens. They are not polarized and don’t have the desired clarity. They also seem to get dirty more easily than my previous lens. I really can’t recommend these lens unless you have no other options like I did.

Oakley has stopped supporting Half Jacket 1.0 so I have purchased the Ice Blue Mirrorshield - Polarized at least 2 times. They are fantastic fit to my Half Jacket 1.0. It is very easy to fit and works like charm. The only reason I have not given 5/5 rating is because after using it for 1 odd year (heavy usage) they seem to develop black spots or discoloring on the lense and it kind of hinders the visibility and hence I end up replacing them. I am now thinking whether I should keep replacing my lense every 1-1/5 years or just buy a new half jacket 2.0 from Oakley.

I just switched out my 5+ year old original lenses, and these make a nice difference. The plastic is a little thinner at the bottom, but overall I'm pleased with what I received for the price. The Revant lenses were notched correctly, and it only took about 3 minutes to replace both sides. The polarization looks like it should, which may throw some people off if they've never had this type of lens. I'll revisit in a month or so to see if I have any of the lamination problems I've seen others mention, but for the time being these are great.

These are the forth or fifth set of lenses I’ve ordered from this company and every one has been a perfect fit for the frames no matter what frames I was ordering for. They also back their product for a year. They’ve got a loyal customer in me.

Packaging and delivery you cant fault, unfortunately they dont fit exactly. I would not be confident going out and using them as they are to loose in the frame. I did double check it was the right type i ordered too.

As stated in previous reviews, slightly thinner than the originals. This means care has to be taken when cleaning or otherwise handling the lenses while in the frame as they are more likely to pop out. No issues with them in use, I would say they are not 100% as good as the orginals but at this price point I am more than happy with them. Nice colour too.

Its like having new Oakleys but at a fraction of the cost, Lenses feel a little small when fitted but I took them out warmed the frame with a hairdryer and reseated them. I stick my glasses on my head alot so I think the frames had flared out a bit. On the whole, very pleased.

Very good lenses, which fit well! The lense were a little tricky to fit, more force than I expected to go in the frames! The colour change is green/blue, just rather than totally neutral- but pleasing. Reds tend to go “back” a bit. The polarisation is very good, beating glare and concentrating colour from surfaces. Very good lenses!

Not as good as genuine Oakley lenses, I like the colour but as I mostly wear them when driving to and from work directly into the sun I will be going back to the more expensive Oakley lenses as these don't block the sun as well and I often find myself squinting which is a concern.

These are decent quality replacement lenses. Comparable to Oakley equivalents and the polarised version works well. Shape appeared to differ slightly from the Oakley lenses they replaced but they still snapped into place securely. Not loose at all. You do need to take care to ensure you order the correct type of lens for your frame, using the helpful diagrams on the product pages.

Great replacement for my Oakley. Has given my glasses a new lease of life and worth the money.

Defective..do not fit Oakley Half jacket sunglasses. I am returning them.. no use to me at all.

The lens is OK, but no where near the quality of the original Oakley lenses. I think these should be much cheaper as the lens is not good enough to charge so much
