Worked perfectly on my Henry H001 and Skinner front sight ramp
I have a Skinner front sight ramp installed on my H001. The ramp accepts front sights with a 3/8" dovetail, but the ramp's mounting screw is covered once you install a sight. I found that the ramp was loose one day and needed to remove the sight to access the screw. If you've ever used these ramps, you know they're a bit fragile and only secured on by a pretty tiny screw that's threaded very shallow. I was not keen on using a hammer and punch for removal. The Williams sight pusher fit perfectly over the Skinner ramp and allowed me to remove the sight from the ramp dovetail in seconds without marring either. 10/10.As frustrating as it was to drop $70 on the tool, I probably would have paid half that to have a gunsmith to do it for me, plus wait time and driving there/back. All in all, it's very well built and I highly recommend it.

excellent tool. highly recommended for front dovetail sights on long guns
I had an older long gun with a front dovetail sight that i needed to remove. this was so i could remove the ramp sight base itself as the dovetail sight insert blocked one of the sight ramp base screws.I tried the old 'hammer and punch' approach but that yielded nothing but frustration. i kept thinking that there had to be a better way to do this.i figured i could take it to a gunsmith, but what happens when i need to do it on some other firearm, take it there again? and then, what about putting this sight back on? that could add up money-wise over time and its inconvenient.so, after many google searches i found this tool here on amazon, and then a youtube video by myhollowpoint that showed it in action. to view it for yourself search in youtube on 'williams sight pusher'.after seeing the video i figured i would take a chance and buy the tool. mine came new in pristine condition (no rust like another reviewer).with just a little care in aligning the device on the sight ramp on one side and the dovetail on the other side, i had the dovetail sight removed in 5 seconds. yes, 5 seconds. so simple, easy, and safe to use.my guess is that paying a gunsmith to remove the dovetail sight and then later insert it would cost more than this tool. So, now that I have the tool I can use it many times for 'free'.highly recommended for front sights on long guns.one thing worth noting is that when using this tool one needs to push the dovetail sight from left to right (when looking down the barrel from the rear stock end as if shooting). from what i have read, the dovetail sights and their bases are built with slight variances to slide out that way. also, to push it back in it goes from right to left.FYI: I do not know if it will work on handguns.

Great tool with modifactions
This is a great product, it does not come with instructions there are some videos online , on my rifle it would not work until I ground down the 2 fingers opposite the push bar on the bottom edge to match the taper of the 10/22 barrel , easily done on a bench grinder, see pic where screwdriver is pointing to the ground edge, worked with normal hand pressure after , as with all things on guns DON'T force it unnecessarily re-align / re-examine the tool placement , very pleased with product

Works great with minor modification
I've done the brass punch and hammer plenty of times on 10/22 front sights in the past. Wanted to give this a try to see if it's easier. As other reviews stated, minor beveling/rounding of the two prongs is required to fit the rounded/curved surface of the front sight base. I used a drum sanding attachment for a dremel, and 5 minutes later it was perfect. So much easier than a punch and hammer. Would recommend this to anyone.

Sight pusher
It's a sight pusher. Good tool to have for ramped sights. If you plan on making multiple sight changes or have multitude of rifles needing sights to be changed worth the money. If not a punch and hammer will work fine just take your time.

Well made
Exactly what I needed to remove fron sight from ramped dovetail sight base.

Worked perfectly
I was raised up shooting a Ruger 10/22 but now I've gotten older and can't see the little brass bead on the front sight any more. So I'm going to give a fiber optic dovetail sight a shot. This tool made the process very easy. I took my time and I was finished within 20 minutes. Highly recommend this device. Made the job so much easier and now I have one if I ever need one again.

Received rusty tool
I just received this tooI about 5 minutes ago and its rusty. Im really not too crazy about that. I hope that it works better than it looks. If I had wanted rusty tools then I would have bought them used at a yard sale or pawn shop. Not a way to do business people. *** Its now a week later and I haven't been contacted about this issue so apparently customer service is not existant on this item. Buyer beware, you will be entirely on your own if you purchase this. I hope your luck is better than mine.
