This wine fridge is exactly what I needed for my small apartment. It fits nicely under the bar counter between my kitchen and living room, with room on top for wine accessories. It’s pretty much plug and play. You just have to insert the wine racks, which is easy, plug it in, set the temperatures and you’re done. (I chose the lowest temp for each zone—one for white and one for reds.) You DO have to give it a couple hours to reach temperature, and that was after sitting in my apartment during a cold-spell. My heat was set for 68 at night but I had it off and the windows open during the day as I was working hard unpacking. Be aware that the temperature display is in Centigrade/Celsius, but the manual gives you equivalent temperatures in Fahrenheit, and you can always look up the conversion online. I’ve had this, fully-stocked and working for about two weeks and the ONLY negative I can think of is that you have to keep the back 4” (10cm) away from the wall for ventilation. I didn’t know this until I read the instructions, but I’m not sure it would be any difference with any other unit. I may turn it sideways to make the walkway into the living room wider, but we shall see. It’s still a great unit and highly recommended it!

Overall I am pleased. Had for almost a year. Works well and it extremely quite. Unit arrived damaged (dent about as round as a quarter on the right side, you could tell it was during shipping because the was a whole in box and the box was a mess) Seller gave me option of shipping back or taking a discount. I thought this was fair.

I advise you not to buy this item. I purchased this fridge for Christmas 2011 and a about a year and a half later the top section stopped working. Customer service will only send you a new part if it you call less than a year from your order date. If this is a known frequent issue they should recall the product or fix it no questions asked. The replacement part is about $80, plus shipping and taxes. Customer service also stated that you should have 5 inches of clearance along the back and sides of the fridge. My fridge was setup in this way and still failed. Koolatron should be embarrassed to offer such a poor quality product. (Note that issues are reported on Amazon shortly after the product was first made available on October 21, 2011.)

While this is a split unit, there is only lighting in the top-shelves. There is a divider for two different cooling zones and there is no light in the bottom section. There is no practical reason for this, so I guess they just decided no one would notice or care.

Its smaller inside than advertised- very well built, quiet & attractive. East warranty to buy with it!

It is attractive and inexpensive to run. However, it does not maintain an even temperature all the time. Goes up and down by 5 to 8 degrees; which means sometimes the white wine is not cold enough, and that temperature variation is not good for the reds.

It is beautiful, but the temperature is hard to control... it never keeps the setting you choose; it always stays a couple of degrees higher or lower from what you set it to be, but it worked. Now, only 8 months after I purchased it, it stopped working. When I looked at it, the temp was 70 degrees and not cooling any more. :( Very disappointed!
