Does this come with the actual ball?

No it doesn’t. You have to buy the ball separately.

Does this come with fibre washers to go in the connection to the water inlet?

no it doesn't what you see in the picture is what you get

i have a 1/2inch ball valve and want to increase the flow to the cold tank on a combination cylinder would going to 3/4 do this supply still 1/2inch

The supply pipe is still 1/2 inch that will dictate the flow. The primaflow product is good quality but take off the cap that seals the washer and coat threads with Vaseline makes future repair simple

The large water tank in my attic needs a new part 2 float valve, how can I tell if its a 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch

Without actually seeing it, I would be tempted to buy one of each, then return the one you don’t use. But if it’s on a domestic I would guess it’s 1/2. Hope this is helpful?

No good

This was only the outer shell of the ballcock valve, brass and sturdy but after fitting and I switched on the water, it didn’t do anything and the water kept pouring out. So once I unscrewed the end nut and had a look inside I discovered it didn’t contain the actual valve or other parts. I wasn’t able to source the inner workings so went and bought a new replacement ballcock and valve from a local store, fitted it and it worked first time.
