I learned about Twinkly when I was looking for a new Christmas tree and ended up buying one that was prelit. I was very pleased with the Christmas tree. Two years later, I now have a project where I want to decorate the house without exterior decorations and figured I could hang up string lights around our front windows. Was looking around for options and saw the Twinkly brand string lights. I bought two and they did not disappoint! It has design presets, they're easy to modify, and the colors are accurate. They work like the other Twinkly lights. (I tried a different cheaper brand and the colors on the screen did not match the lights, and it didn't offer as many true RGB colors as Twinkly.) Colors are beautiful and accurate. Setup was easy. No problems with mapping despite the fact that the room was a bit dark and there were some obstructions.Don't forget to buy a brick charger for USB C or a power strip with USB C plug.For some reason the packaging on mine didn't match what was shown in the listing so I'm posting the picture for awareness.

Wow! These lights are worth the money, they're little but boy are they BRIGHT! The colors are amazing, so many things you can do. It was easy to install, I bought some stickies for the wall and they look so nice. Functionality so far is 10/10! I haven't had any issues. It was easy to connect to the app as well. The wire seems sturdy and good material. Overall is a yes for me!

I really like these and the other candies they have just for small projects or group a few sets for larger to really get good effects. I have mine on a 4 ft tree and it looks good and I have been able to play around with them. Storage is not alot but that ok. How ever I also have a set of 100 I think I will add and remap as not all scenes are defined do to spacing. This would be great for a 3 ft tree or a wreath and the effects would look amazing. Still figuring out the options on the app for them and what can be downloaded. But I have 2 sets of 400 string lights I am now really excited to put on the larger tree.

The media could not be loaded. These are so pretty! I love the stars. Honestly the initial process of connecting my phone to them is strange because it has its own WiFi that you connect to?? I’m still unclear on how that works because it seems like I can only be connected to the lights and not my normal WiFi. So the internet on my phone isn’t great. I can live with it though and once I find the setting I want I can just change the WiFi and vibe. These are really pretty and they can get really dim which is one thing I wanted. There are different color settings and they really do look like candies especially with the Pale Rainbow setting. So overall, while the initial setup was frustrating, it’s really great and I do recommend it.

This is an unfortunate review, but here are my grievances thus far with the Twinkly lights--I've had them for about an hour.1. They don't come with a wall plug, and having the end be USB-C is a weird choice where most string lights use the standard USB plug.2. The app is quite finnicky and disconnects from the bluetooth more than it connects to it.3. Their wifi is non-existent and absolutely will not pair with my phone.4. They use 2.4 wifi, which most things do not (standard for a lot of stuff is 5.0)5. There is no way to use the remote that the lights are plugged in to without the app. If the button does anything, I don't see what it is.6. The demo mode (which is what runs if you can't get the app to connect) is insanely bright and strobing. You either get lights that look like they're going out, lights that are trying to induce a seizure, or violently patriotic lights (strobing red white and blue).These lights are the cutest string lights that I have seen in a long time, but they just don't work how they should. They were also quite expensive to work as poorly as they do.

I do not get paid for reviews. LED lights have far improved over the earlier models when you get the best brands, and as of now, Twinkly is the best brand. These lights do glow on all sides. Don't let the small size or the relative "flatness" of the Candies and Dots version of their bulbs fool you. The glow reaches far beyond the size of the bulbs, if you choose. You can personalize these from dim to bright enough to read by when the white option is chosen, plus each individual bulb can be made to have different colors of your choice up to 6 different colors or shades, alternating, mixed and more. There are also many stunning sophisticated or just fun, combinations already included, with more being added, often. Some are steady, others are many types of blinking, fading, chasing, plus many other effects far beyond those, with a near endless choice of color shades and tints; many with a choice of speed or slowness, some chasing in different directions, horizontally, vertcally or diagonal. If you have curtain lights, you can even get plaids, moving figures, stripes, etc, but even if you don't and I don't, the many effects and colors are still amazing and well woth getting. The Candies version of Dots shapes, available in star or heart shapes as well, are shorter strings and so you can do "advanced mapping" of your lights easily, something that is not always the case with the longer stringed versions, but always worth doing.What could be improved? Besides the obvious: price!: The Candies versions should include the brick plug like the longer varieties do; not just the USB-C. Many people like me, have extras stored away, but not everyone does or has USB outlets or enough of them. At these prices, they should be included. Also, it would be great if there were even more choices for personalization in the choice of speeds on all of patterns, though with many patterns, that choice is there. Plus, a nice improvement would be colors that seem to be hard to do yet with any LED lights, like autumn colors, such as maroon or brown, yellow that's not greenish and also including a choice of both warm and cool whites on all of the versions of Twinkly lights. But these type of lights just seem to keep improving, rapidly. It's an exciting time for getting decorative lights.
