Bought for my child. Great, but bit heavy
**Bike D-Lock Review**This is a very strong and sturdy D-lock, offering great security for the price. It feels solid and well-built, making it a reliable choice for locking up a bike in high-theft areas. However, it is quite heavy, which might be a downside for some riders. That said, the durability and protection make it worth it if you don’t mind the extra weight.

Good quality trusted bike lock
Used this lock for a couple of years now and it has never let me down, perfect size to fit round near enough everything you would want/need to lock your bike to. Not the lightest of locks but solid build quality adds to the security and trust of the lock. Would recommend to anyone who frequently looks their bike up for long periods of time through out the day.

Nice D Lock and cable - works nice together!
Quality D Lock, nice engineered key and precision made. Good Keyhole cover and well built lock. The additional cable is nice to have and helps those awkward times when your D lock just isn't long enough to secure the bike, and then cable can snake through rails and the bike stand to add that extra protection and security - Nice! Good solid design!

Reasonable lock, good value but not perfect.
I read and watched reviews of various locks and the Kryptonite always came up on top for security and ability to resist forced removal. I bought this to protect my E-MTB from theft and also it complies with my insurance policy (which is a massive plus point), I am quite happy with my purchase. The reason for not awarding five stars are perhaps minor points but for me they detract from the ease of use:1. There is an aluminium addition to the lock shackle that is attached to the shackle, it is used to attach the lock to the bike frame and is roughly machined and not plastic coated (to aid attachment to the bike bracket) - it looks like an after-thought and can scratch your bike frame if you are not careful when locking the bike. Personally I don't carry the lock on the bike, instead carrying it inside my backpack and I always find it a pain as it protrudes from the 'D' shackle quite a lot and just looks poor/cheap.2. The key/lock is typical of the type of lock in that you need to 'wiggle' the key to be able to fully insert in into the barrel - not the best choice for the use of the lock where vibration is an issue (which rotates the cylinders inside the lock mechanism making key insertion a pain). I've had devices with better versions of this style lock barrel that require less effort to align the cylinders (specifically motorcycle locks)3. I find the shackle a little too short to go through an EMTB frame and also around a bicycle post - Perhaps I should have bought the larger version but it is best to have as little room as possible for a thief to insert a jack (or similar) to break the mechanism/shackle. I think the shackle just needs to be slightly longer for EMTB use.4. The wire rope that comes with it is neither use or ornament, it'll be cut with a decent set of bolt cutters in no time - or a cordless angle grinder. Good deterrent maybe to a passing Ned but probably nothing of issue to a professional thief.Other than these points, the general feel of the lock is good and it isn't too heavy. I think I trust it to secure my bike (hopefully will never have to put this to the proper test!). I would recommend and buy another - but I wish the aluminium bracket could be removed as it isn't good the way that it is. Great price and a good brand!

Fantastic lock - intimidating to thieves
Recently had my bike attacked by thieves and the only parts that were left behind were the frame and handlebars - the ones protected by this lock. Its mere presence seems to be enough of a deterent to put off thieves from stealing the secured parts. So now I just need to make sure that I remember to use the cable to secure the wheels and I might have a chance of keeping the whole bike next time!

Good size, secure lock
This is my 3rd kryptonite lock, I'm happy with it. The cable is handy (though can be cut of course) for places where you can't get a good locking position but ideally it's there to protect your wheels and you should try to lock the *frame* to something solid. (Side note: I passed a front wheel locked to a railing the other day where they'd used a similar cable to hold the (now stolen) rest of the bike. DO NOT DO THAT! :))It's one of the smaller locks, which means a lighter lock but not TOO small, it's IMO just right if you want a lighter D lock. I've also a small abus 640 (which is a great lock as well), this one is just that little larger though which just make a bit of a difference in certain situations.I've noticed it can seem a bit fiddly to lock BUT it's because it LOOKS like I've closed it properly, but I haven't and it's my fault, you just need to be careful to get it seated correctly, and not panic and try and force the key!

Includes one year insurance on the lock
The media could not be loaded. I consider this a great lock. It has a really good price to value ratio. The lock is safe since it will require some pretty heavy machinery to cut it off.The bike carry ad-on makes it really easy to transport it around. The included flex cable is useful to secure other parts of the bike like the wheels. The ends are in O, which mean you can loop it and use it in all it's length. It also comes with a velcro so you can tie it to the Ulock while in transit. It comes with three keys, one of each has a built in led light so you can spot the keyhole in the dark.It also offers one year insurance for your bike, the only catch is that they only pay if the lock is violated, the flex cable is not covered. You can also extend the insurance beyond the included 1 year for a fee.Downsides so far are the rubbery rings that serve as cushion on the locking mechanism sometimes may come out when jiggling the lock on a pole. The key sometimes doesn't turn immediately and you have to jiggle it ever so slightly to turn.Do recommend.
