Great dowel maker
I make sticks to plat an instruments. Works great. Some wood can splinter and you need to work by hand a but to get a rounded end to put in drill chuck. But all in all really good device

Buena opción
Muy buena herramienta, es un poco difícil de usar para hacer dovelas muy largas o muchas y el polvo se acumula y hace mas difícil usar la herramienta, pero para un uso casero y proyectos pequeños es perfecto.

Takes some experience
I used this to make dowels from Osage orange. The quality of what you start with determines your finished product. Trimming the wood you start with helps. Starting one or two sizes too large and progressively downsizing helps. Since this one was metric some sanding while in your drill may help.

Not off to a good start.
The base is not set correctly right out of the box, and the included tool is too big to use to adjust the base plate.Have not even used it and I don’t have hight hopes.

Warning!!
Echo comments from other users. Massive tear-out irrespective of wood species or starting diameter of stock. Would not recommend this product if it was free.

Looks better than it works.
Stock MUST be close to finished diameter to fit intended socket. I tried to work from larger to smaller diameter ( the intended finish diameter which in this case was 1/2” or 12mm, if I recall) but the move to 12mm from the next largest was too big of a jump so it would not accept the stock. The holes and bits should be funneled; like the opening of a trumpet. As it is….the stock needs to be almost finished in order to finish it with this fixture. Great expectations, big disappointment. .
