Brilliant robot vacuum with handy camera - ideal for pet owners
The media could not be loaded. I'm been a convert to robot vacuums for many years - started off with the cheap but dumb bump-n-go types that blindly bashed their way around the room. sort of clearing as they went. They about 5 years ago we got the original Xiaomi Mi and it was a revelation - no longer did it smash it's way around bumping into furniture but it intelligently mapped the room and plotted a best route etc, and our Henry hoover's days were numbered.I've had several more since then but this is the second Ecovacs I've bought recently, after we got a previous model for my mother-in-law as a present. The final straw came after we got our first ever dog as a family a month ago, and Terry, our previous robot vacuum, ploughed straight through our dogs poo on a scheduled clean, leaving our kitchen floor covered in stinky brown circles of dog mess. It was as disgusting as it sounds and we knew then that we needed something with obstacle avoidance.Step forward the T10 Plus then, which can recognise and avoid objects left on the floor like cables and socks etc, thus preventing the age-old issue we had of things getting stuck in the brush, and more importantly preventing it from going into any little presents our dog leaves behind! The other huge advantage of the camera is we can use it to check on our dog, and even speak to her if we want to. This is fantastic - there's a "home patrol" setting where the vacuum will take pictures of the house which we use on a regular basis, and if worried we can get a video link to our phones. This has a big advantage of pet camera because it can move from room to room to find her.Of course this would be irrelevant if it didn't clean properly, so let's focus on that for a bit. firstly the cleaning station means it will auto empty the dustbin when it's full. This means up to 2 months of hoovering without having to actually empty it. There's all the usual options for cleaning certain area, setting number of times to clean and strength of the motor etc but we have a scheduled clean that goes around once on max strength and it does a good as job as any other I've owned.Of course these days mopping is a feature too. It's worth saying that in the same way a robot vacuum won't completely replace your hoover (think stairs!) nor is a robot mop a replacement for getting your trust Vilda mop out with a bucket of water. However it will without doubt drastically cut down the amount of times you have to do it. You still need to manually fill the mop reservoir with water and wash the mop pad once done etc, but I'll take that over having to do the whole thing myself any day. It does a decent job at it too, with different oscillation strengths rather than just dragging a mop map across, but it won't shift a floor covered in mud for example, but then I wouldn't expect this to.The app is well thought out and easy to use for the most part, save for a couple of niggles (I don't seem to be able to delete a room that the mapping adds in error which is actually our patio) but it's just cosmetic . The vacuum includes it's own voice assistant so no need for Alexa for Google, but they are also supported. The auto-emptying of the dustbin is really neat, and everything is well sealed so no smells in the base unit. This wasn't a cheap purchase but the technology here is fantastic (and it's saved us money on a dedicated dog camera too). Vacuuming is top notch, mopping very impressive and the camera a big deal for us as dog owners. When I think back to my first robot hoover it it quite amazing how the technology has moved on in a short space of times, so who knows what we will have in another 5 years (maybe one that can handle stairs is the dream!). For now I'm pretty sure this is as good as we can get, and we've been really happy with it.

Absolutely rubbish, buggy as hell do not buy!!!
White elephant, cleans ok WHEN it works but you will spend most of your time resetting up the robot when it goes wrong or the WiFi will no longer connect every few days. You’ll then not bother after a while and get back out your normal hover because it’s quicker and you’ve lost the will to live keep resetting it. App and mapping is poor with poor controls to edit / fix the map. Buy another brand!!! You’ve been warned.

Absolutely amazing product - never expected much and have been blown away
The ECOVACS DEEBOT T10 Plus from ECOVACS is such an incredible piece of kit. I wanted a robot vacuum to take care of our kitchen as we have kids and crumbs are always on the floor, having to vacuum 3/4 times a day is frustrating and being able to set a robot off to do it for you seemed like a great idea. My expectations weren't that great before buying this. I kinda assumed it would do the bare minimum and miss quite a lot, however since setting it up I'm amazed at just how well this robot cleans up.The setup process does take a 10-15 minutes if you don't already have an account and need to start from scratch, plus although the instructions are incredibly clear and easy to follow, there is a few steps to go through, but once setup it's so amazing. I opted for Alexa integration too so I can just ask Alexa to turn on Deebot and off it goes. The device has 3000 Pa of suction which for a robot is quite high and it really does get almost everything apart from really big crumbs or cat brekkies. It also comes with some amazing software that will map your house, plot out different rooms and navigate without a problem. You can also speak directly to the robot if you wish. The technology is way better than I expected and it hardly misses a bit. Even under the table and chairs where there's 28 different legs in the way it still gets nearly everything without lifting the chairs off the floor.Self emptying is great, means you rarely have to take care of bins and it even mops and empties the dirty mop water. There is also an app allowing you to control it remotely and even access the built in camera.Admittedly this is expensive and at the high end of the robot vacuum world, but it's just brilliant and believe it or not I'd say it's worth the money.

Pretty good, but needs regular help in our house
I wouldn't want to be without my Deebot now - it certainly does help to clean up the mess left by the family and pets, but it's not self-sufficient in our house. It has a tendency to get stuck on smaller/thinner rugs (although these can be geofenced), but most irritating is that it regularly needs unblocking from pet hair and random bits of chewed up dog toy. It's other weekness is vacuuming where there are small steps between different ares of the house, or edging on wooden floor/carpets. It tends to leave debris behind - bits of mud, or dog hair it's found. It can struggle with edges too, although the rotating corner brush does mostly allow thorough coverage.Otherwise, it's pretty good. Vacuuming is reasonable (although not always quite strong enough on the medium settings, and the highest settings are loud), but its mopping of hard floors is my favourite feature.
