Q: How are you supposed to adjust to flush with table?

There are four Hex adjustable "Set Screws" positioned over the lower support tabs under the insert. Easily adjusted for the insert height to match the table.

Q: Can you cut a slot to accommodate the riving knife in these inserts?

On this model the riving knife slot locates too close to the front edge and may weaken the insert and cause it to pinch the blade.

Q: How do you cut the slot? Do you raise the blade to cut from underneath like for a saw sled? What keeps the insert in place while cutting?

The inserts have small hold down tabs at the front as well as sandable tabs and a side adjusting screw for a friction fit. Instructions are included to safely raise the blade through the insert.
