While I think a child could play with this, I’d say it fits in the lines of an adult collectible as it’s a statue and more for displaying on a shelf. It’s fairly small in size like the original kids toy, however this has no moving parts. It feels like a combination of metal and plastics. Everything is very shiny and glossy with a lot of fine detail especially in the cockpit. The legs do not move, nor can you open the cockpit. It’s too bad it didn’t come with at least 1 figure to ride inside or even a way to open it up.It’s a pretty simple toy, although I think kids would prefer the original plastic version because of the moving parts, larger size, and figure compatibility. The higher asking price is probably because it’s an officially licensed product, well made, and imported.

This is a nice size GUP that seems pretty high quality. I have no fears about my kiddo breaking or damaging this while it may scuff, it's built durable! That being said I believe this is definitely made more for looks than playing as the cockpit is unusable. That is a little disappointing as I was really hoping to be able to put characters in this and play like the other toys, but the most you can do with this is pretend surf it if you will. It is a bit on the pricier side, but I also feel like this is a bit larger than the regular Octonaut toys. Comes in an authentic box, however not from USA.
