I would not recommend purchasing this item, if you want to put a “charm” on it. This item failed twice, once within the window of warranty and once outside that window. For an item of “high quality” the product should not have failed.I am very dissatisfied with this purchase and will not be buying from this company again.

I only took it out and tried to fasten it around my neck. I couldn't get it to go back together behind or in front, so, I just put it away after measuring it.It was actually a bit longer than 18 inches, and the thickness was spot on, I have no way of knowing if it is pure gold or not, it is yellow metal though. That is about all.Gabby
