SWHC804 - Elasto-Gel Hot/Cold All Purpose Pack 12 x 12

I noticed that my chiropractor used this brand cold pack at the end of every treatment. I liked the fact that it was cold without feeling as if my back was freezing. So I decided to purchase one for myself. It's truly amazing. It gets cold but never becomes rigid. It comes out of the freezer as pliable as when it went in. With regular ice packs, you usually have to place a towel or something thick between you and it to prevent your skin from feeling too cold. With this product, your regular shirt is more than enough to prevent an uncomfortable sensation. I liked the Elasto-Gel so much, I ordered one for my mother-in-law. I whole-heartedly recommend this to everyone.

I hurt a tendon at work this year and got sent up to medical. They have these elastogel packs for icing. I liked it so much that I hunted one down for icing my lower back after rougher days. This thing is killer! I leave mine in the freezer for quick use. It stays cold for a long time! It also stays super flexible even when pulled straight from the freezer. No need to wrap a towel around it, just leave your shirt on and slap it on. This thing makes my lower back so cold after 20 min my back is still really cold to the touch. Definitely worth every cent. I may even buy a couple other sizes.

I bought this as a gift-- I have had and used one of these for several years, as recommended by my physical therapist. I only use the "cold" function-- I keep it in the freezer, it stays pliable. The friend to whom I gave it has been using it "warm," by heating in microwave. One caveat-- it is heavy! (4 or 5 lbs) Not a problem for most, but I gave another one to a 95-yr old and it was too heavy for her to handle, and she had to return.

Elastogel ice packs are the best. If you get one you'll love it. What I received was a mislabeled shoulder thing. Good luck

Very good for fitting the areas you're soothing. Cool is great. Haven't used it for heat yet. A+ rating from us.

By a considerable margin, the best ice pack I've ever used to alleviate my lower back issues: I'm 5'7", but this ice pack easily covers a very broad swath of my back, remains agreeably cold over 15+ minutes of application, and seems very ell made, with a plush surface, that eliminates the need for an intervening towel. In these respects, this ice pack handily beats the ice packs I used on my back at my physical therapists' facility. Two observations, which explain why this doesn't get a 5-star rating: it's relatively heavy (about 4 pounds - - heavier than my laptop!) and you should be scrupulous in keeping -- and using -- the zip-lock bag in which this ice pack arrives at your door, so the pack's fabric surface doesn't get wet or damaged in the freezer. Clearly, it's not cheap, but if your back issues are more than merely transient, this thing can really ease your job of getting back on your feet and staying there, as it did for me.

AFTER USING THIS PACK FOR YEARS, I NOW BUY THEM AS GIFTS FOR MY FRIENDS. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST COLD PACK I'VE EVER FOUND. IT IS DENSE BUT LIGHTWEIGHT, JUST ENOUGH TO HELP PENETRATE THE COLD. IT'S THIN ENOUGH TO LAY ON COMFORTABLY, NOT LIKE BULKY ICE PACKS. IT ALSO REALLY HOLDS THE COLD TEMPERATURE FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WHEN YOU BUY ELASTO-GEL PRODUCTS.
