I’ve been using the Security Camera for a few weeks now and I’m genuinely impressed. Setup was super simple, it takes just a few minutes to update firmware and setup using the Tapo app and it was up and running. The 2K video quality is incredibly sharp, far better than my old 1080p camera. It covers a full 360 degree pan, so I don’t have to worry about blind spots. The motion tracking is very responsive, it smoothly follows people or objects across the frame, which adds a real sense of security. One of my favourite features is the full-colour night vision. Even in pitch dark, I can see who’s outside in detail, which is a game-changer compared to the usual black-and-white night feeds. The IP65 rating means I can trust it in the UK weather - rain, wind, or shine, it just keeps working. It integrates easily with Alexa and Google Assistant, so I can check the feed hands-free when I’m busy around the house. I also love the fact that there’s no monthly fee - I use a microSD card for local storage, but there’s also a cloud option if I ever want it. Overall, the security camera is great value for money. It’s smart, sturdy, and full of advanced features you’d expect from more expensive brands. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their home security without breaking the bank in the current cost of living crisis.

I recently installed the Tapo 2K Security Camera Outdoor (C510W), and I couldn’t be more impressed with its performance. The 360° PTZ functionality gives me full coverage of the area, which is perfect for keeping an eye on my driveway and garden. It moves smoothly and tracks motion, ensuring nothing gets missed. The video quality is excellent—the 2K resolution offers crystal-clear footage, even in low light, and the full-colour night vision is a major plus. It’s reassuring to know that even at night, I can still get clear images, which is great for peace of mind. The motion tracking feature is surprisingly accurate, and I’ve noticed it picks up even the smallest movements. I appreciate the dual storage options, allowing me to choose between cloud and local storage—I can always access the footage when I need it. Another bonus is how it integrates with Alexa and Google Home, making it really easy to check the camera’s feed or adjust settings with just my voice. The IP65 weatherproof rating means it’s durable enough for year-round use, even with Scotland’s unpredictable weather! Overall, the Tapo C510W is a fantastic security camera, offering top-notch features at a great price. It’s been an easy and reliable addition to my home security setup, and I feel a lot safer knowing I have such a capable system in place.

Pretty good cameras and quality isn't too bad , do get a problem with connection when it rains and looses signal, would I recommend yes. As it's updated and easy to use good to record and you can pan and tilt with security light and warning siren 🙂

I didn’t expect a great deal from a £47 security camera, however I’ve been pleasantly surprised. The camera itself is of good quality and very easy to set up, quick look at the instructions, download the Tapo app and you’re up and running. The only thing I will mention is that no where in the instructions do they give you a recommended height at which to mount the camera for optimal use. After a quick look on Google I found the information I needed, most recommending to mount anywhere between 8ft - 11ft. I mounted at about the max 11ft. This was ideal as I was able to drill through the house wall into a bedroom to plug in the power supply. The camera has bracket to fix to a flat wall, however I wanted mine mounted on the corner of my property so I can look at the front driveway area and be able to pan round to look down the side of the house. To do this I had to purchase a corner bracket which I found on eBay. The camera quality is very good, easily matching that of my ring doorbell, and the pan and tilt facility is excellent, easily controlled through the app on my phone. The camera uses AI for motion tracking, motion detection and person detection, this is great, however you need to have play around with sensitivity settings once you have it install in your desired position to get it to work at its best. I found with the motion detection set high the camera went crazy trying to chase rain drops, so I have motion at low sensitivity and person detection at full. You can subscribe to the Tapo cloud to store and playback and recordings, however there’s no need to do so as the camera has a slot for a micro sd card. I bought a 512gb Sandisk sd card, which will on average record a months worth of recordings based on average detections. The good thing is, when the sd card is at max capacity the camera simply starts to delete the oldest recordings, so you should always have around a constant months worth of recordings. Overall this is a great camera for the money, however by the time I’ve added the angled mounting bracket and sd card it stands me at £100 but in my opinion this is cheap due to the fact you don’t pay any monthly subscription like you do for other cameras.

I was unsure at first, on purchasing it, to be honest, but I decided I'd go for it, and so i did and am extremely happy i had... for various reasons, i have a fair bit from Tapo. i have their smart buttons, smart plugs, and bulbs. You say it, I've got it. But out from all that, this camera is my favourite for sure and getting it when on its lowest in discounts made it even better when it arrived as that was pretty quick too the delivery but when I received it I couldn't wait too unbox it. So my first thought it's a bit bulkier than I initially thought but let's work with it, its very easy as all there devices are, too set up through using the tapo app so before purchase or when you have either is ok make your tapo account and be ready download from Google play or iphone. Features on this 2k crystal clear camera have better eyes than me. It's definitely smart, though, that's for sure. One thing a personal fav is with the 2 little white colour bulbs and it's settings the light is bright enough too actually see where your going you can choose to have colour throughout the whole night or smart mode where then only an avent is detected it will turn the light on and stay on for your desired chosen time and still remember the amout of movement you can do with where you want too see a whole 360 all round pretty amazing. Then you have the built in alarm and call features making it easier too speak with whom at the front door if away never miss a delivery again i say ha, and with all this above you have the choice too cloud save with tapo (they offer 1 month free for each camera purchased on cloud back up for your recordings, Photos etc after this you can pay a small fee or use a memory card to save on without a fee, this camera really is a win win all round reasonable price that's been well made doesn't look or feel of bad quality but good. don't hesitate on my behalf you'll see when you get it that doing that was the right choice have fun you'll love it like my nose dose can't keep away!

Excellent quality and value. Really what more could you want? The images are crisp, you can store as much video as you want if you get a large enough SD card. And the detection and tracking work well. I have this on the side of my house below the soffit. The IR night vision is impressive and the option of spot light is good too. Can't go wrong for this money.
