Very nice watch.
I lve this watch. I got one for a friend and liked the way it looked on her, so got myself one. Very comfortable. It was a puzzle how to work the latch, but once done, it's easy.

Well made, fun. modern but classic and goes with everything.
I really like this watch. The face is bigger than I expected -- still feminine, but it is the size of a more modern ladies watch. The strap has easy to open and close clasps that feel very sturdy. The closure is very smooth and does not snag on any clothing. The face of the watch has mother of pearl in the center circle, the mother of pearl is surrounded by diamond chips, and then the outer ring is made up of black roman numerals alternating with gold hashtags. There are very thin concentric rings in a gold tone in that outer circle. The watch is well made, very comfortable to wear, and has a sturdy strap and closure. It is very easy to set. The strap is large enough to fit most wrists, I had to have three links removed at a kiosk in the mall to make the band fit (cost only $5). I think you could remove the links yourself if you had a lot of patience and the right tools. With watches in this price point, I usually find that the clasp mechanism feels cheap. That is definitely not the case with this watch. The strap and closure are as nice as many of the more expensive watches I have in my collection. I think this one will wear well over time.My only knock on this watch is that between the mother of pearl, the diamonds, the gold concentric circles and the two tone metals, the face of the watch is a little too busy. The diamonds are really quite sparkly. Despite that fact that I usually prefer a simpler design, I find myself choosing this watch over many of my other watches. It just feels kind of fun to wear. The size, the colors, the strap and the face really do work well together.I will definitely consider other watches by this manufacturer in the future.

An elegant time piece with a solid warranty
The Lucien Picard Sofia watch has a classic clean looks which easily goes from day to evening, business casual to a casual night on the town. The face is not too large but just about right, the number large and easy to see. It is unique among women's watches I have seen in the past few years in that it has some sparkle because of a ring of tiny cubic ziconia, but is not too glitzy or tacky, not something which will go out of sytle when that particular look goes out of fashion. It is, in fact, what had prevented me form purchasing a watch the past year or two. I really do not want something encrusted with cubic zirconia for every day wear. This particular watch does it extraordinarily well. It is understated and elegant. The watch is multi-tone, silver and gold (stainless, with a gold wash). It has a white face with fine lines encircling the outer circle and mother of pearl in the center. The detailing is subtle and elegant. It has a date window at the 6 o' clock position and large gold Roman numerals.Setting the watch is fairly easy, and similar to other quality watches that I have (setting the date by pulling the crown to the third position, and the time on the second).Unlike most watches in this category, it is very waterproof (to 165 feet) and carries an extraordinary 5 year manufacturer's warranty. The reason for my 4 star rating:1. It is thicker than I generally like, at 10-11mm. I suspect a holdover from the bold "statement" watches of the past year. I personally like much much thinner watches (in the 3-6 mm range) and have worn Skagen watches for years because I could always find one in that range. That said, when on, the thickness is less apparent, and it is comfortable to wear.2. The clasp. It took me quite a while to figure out how to open it. After upwards of half an hour puzzling over it I went did a Google search, and saw that others had also had this problem. I never4 found an adequate answer online, but my husband did figure it out. It i a fairly simple bayonet clasp which 'snaps' (for lack of a better descriptor) in the center. However, edven though Ican open and close it easily when I am not wearing it, I have not figured out how to remove it myself, as it takes 2 hands (which tells me swomething must be wrong... can it possibly take to hands to unlatch a watc while wearing it?) It is a very nice looking and secure clasp, with the Lucien Piccard signature on one side. I just wish it were easier to open and close (while on).3.There is an implcit chauvanism in watches in that Women's are decorative, while utilitarian functions are available only in Men's. I noticed this first in Android-weear, where fitness watches were available in women's styles, while notification watches, and those which controlled other devices were available in Men's. Lucien Piccard makes the only affordable genuine chronograph watch I have found. My husband has one. It is not available in Women's styles. I actually have more need of that function than he does, as I do Neuropsych testing and frequently need an accurate stop watch. One that is unobtrusive (as in on a watch) provides a bonus in that it is les distracting and likely to provide the most accurate data, best performance when doing limits testing. I wish I could find one. My husband and I actually joked about this watch requiring somkeone else to help remove it. (though in that case, it may be that I am just doing it wrong). My favorite watch ever was a Swiss moon phase which was ruined by a local jewler :( Those too are near impossible to find. While there are many 'moon' watches, few are genuine moon phase. Lucien Piccard makes one for Men, but not for Women {sigh}. As I said once before, the search continues ;)It comes in a lovely satin lined presentation box, and would make a lovely and practical gift

Beautiful and Elegant. Goes with anything. CLASP is challenging. See the Video I posted on how to open/close it.
This is a beautiful and elegant watch. And is quite sparkly! The picture really does not do it justice ... at all.The face of the watch is 1 inch by 1 inch, so its quite large in diameter, but I don't notice it that much when it is on my wrist and I have very, very small wrists. I had to have 4 individual sections of "links" taken out so that it would fit. And its snug and feels lovely on my wrist. It is a nice combination of both gold and silver, and I can dress it up or down. It goes with anything. And I wear a lot of bracelets next to it, and they clang a lot to each other and this watch seems to be good with that! No scratches or abrasions from my other jewelry.HOW TO OPEN THE CLASP (SEE VIDEO TOO)What was puzzling to me was the clasp. It isn't easy, or for that matter intuitive. It took me a while to "get" how to open and close it and had to fiddle with it. You have to put one finger between the watch, where the clasp is and your wrist. Slide it between the bottom metal piece and the watch itself. Then gently push open and the clasp will open. There are actually 2 openings. The instructions don't help at all either. Hummmm...... Not great.... which is why I gave this 4 stars. But it is a very strong watch and I suspect it will last for years. I would have given it 5 stars if the clasp were easier!
