The Thomas Crown Affair

Loved the movie, loved the soundtrack. Nina Simone’s “Sinner Man” sealed the deal for me.

Ah...now THIS is music for sharing with a lover or for enjoying while sinking back in that perfect easy chair- perhaps as you watch the snow fall or the rain come down. The CD will simply sweep you away. I particularly loved listening to Simone's version of Sinner Man as well as Sting singing "Windmills of Your Mind". Dreamy, sensual and absolutely delicious. If you are feeling more than a tad stressed out, this one should get you back on track. SIDE NOTE: Do try to get hold of Felix Da House Cat's remix of Sinner Man (the version used in an otherwise forgettable film called Cellular). It, too, is a standout and a good intro to another good artist/remixer.

Im probably not the most reliable critic, as I don't purchase many CD's. I loved this music and very much wanted to get the music. Initially, some years ago, I intended to get this album from Amazon and read the reviews back then and every one of them panned the album and I decided to not buy it based on those reviews. Years later I again saw the movie and was intrigued enough I thought to hell with it, I going to get it anyway. One of the wisest things I have done. Remember, that like art, music is in the ear of the beholder, but this is now one of my favorite albums. I hihgly recommend it. Good luck, to you.

What about the piano in the restaurant? I love the soundtrack for this movie. Gave it four stars instead of five because it’s missing the soundtrack of the piano playing While Thomas Crown is having dinner with the insurance lady.

This is one of the most beautiful and eclectic movie soundtracks I have heard. It has a mix of jazz, contemporary, reggae and other music that is just delicious. It also has the one "killer track" - Sinnerman, from Nina Simone that is one of the most sensational 10 minute pieces of music that I have ever heard. A reggae beat, a singer with a raspy voice, singing this reggae/rock song where it almost sounds like she is a half a beat behind, but actually isn't, and a song with a melody and power that is rarely heard in any music.While I bought this album after hearing "Sinnerman" in the movie, the rest of the CD is terrific as well.

I bought as a gift for my husband. He mentioned that he thought it would be good driving music. He says he really enjoys it when he is out running errands. It arrived on time and in excellent condition.

I bought this album largely because of Sting's arrangement of "Windmills Of Your Mind", which is heard over the closing credits of the movie. Happy days, it is the first cut on the CD. I think it is one of the best arrangements of the song I have ever heard. I wish I could come up with a good arrangement for solo fingerstyle guitar.Nina Simone's "Sinner Man" is the second cut, so the two best tracks from the movie are right up front.The rest of the treacks are pleasant listening, so if you enjoyed the movie as much as I did, I recommend this CD.
