Great for Balance
I keep this on the floor in my living room and stand on it everyday. I can feel my stabilizer muscles firing as I stand single legged on this. I really would recommend this to everyone, as we age our balance becomes every more important and this certainly helps.

Very helfpul to strenghten ankle!!
I sprained my ankle and my Dr. told me to get this to strengthen my ankle and train ankle reflexes. I was very skeptical in the beginning, but eventually I decided to get it (after I got another sprained ankle).I got the the advanced one. This model has 2 sides:1. flat side with anti skid bars2. and the other side has that spikes (rounded points), and I like this side betterAfter using this for 2 weeks, I could feel my ankle was better and stronger. You can watch TV while doing this training - superb! I can balance myself for about ~30s now, and the ultimate training from my Dr. would to balance with eyes closed (I prob won't go that far). The item itself is solid, and it's definitely worth the price.

Very sticky
Has something all over it and is very sticky. I will try to clean it but if not will be returning. I shouldn’t have to clean this to use it.

They are rubber and easy to wipe clean
I use this Thera-Band because that is what I was using in PT to help develop ankle strength and balance. I was there for plantar faciitis and they found out my ankles were weak. You sand on 1 foot while you keep the other slightly off the ground so you can learn to balance. At first my ankle would wobble and now it is much stronger. They are rubber and easy to wipe clean, I also bought the blue which is the intermediate color; black is softest so it is the hardest because it requires good core strength and balance. all in all they are virtually indestructible and have a variety of uses for the hips, knee, ankle etc.. It has a book that shows the different poses. It you are week in your core, ankles, etc.. start with the blue before going to the black.

I would recommend the foam-type
I use this after my daily runs. It's alright. The issue I have with it is that if you use one foot and your ankle gets lazy (or is weak) it will deflate enough that you end up touching the floor and defeating the purpose. For me, I just have to pay attention, but if you are not used to these, I would recommend the foam-type, or dome-type trainers. This is also bigger than I thought it would be. The sports medicine office had one that looked exactly like this, but was just big enough for a large foot- so probably about half this size. I can stand on this with both feet, without hanging over the edges, but I have small feet.

High Hopes. Review to Follow in a Few Weeks
I bought this as a gift for my athletic 40 year old son and won't be giving it to him for a couple of weeks so a review would be premature but it looks like just the thing he needs to get him out of his chair for breaks from the computer at home and in the office. He also had some knee surgery a few months ago so hopefully this will help to strengthen that area as well. I will wrote a real review after he receives the gift and has a chance to try it out. He needs something to keep him strong and balanced between marathons and triathlons. Product was delivered on time and packaging was fine.
