Works great with the Analogue Pocket Dock!
Bought 2 of these to pair with my Analogue Pocket while docked. You have to update the controller firmware to get it to sync but once done they work perfectly! The buttons even work with the shortcuts on the dock!

Better than the Official Controller
Sega have never made a comfortable controller. There, I've said it! Each console has been burdened by an awkward controller that is Inferior to the equivalent Nintendo console of the time.So imagine my surprise when some gentle, nuanced tweaks to the official controller's design have made it far more comfortable to hold and use. This is now the definitive way to play games on the console.

Wouldn’t work on windows for me
Bought on the basis of reviews stating that these worked wirelessly on PC - 8bitdo states that they don’t, and that’s what I found. Button presses are registered but games don’t actually control properly. Have returned to get the Bluetooth version instead

Terrific Pad
I recently bought one of these directly from 8bitdo, and though it took a little while to arrive, it was completely worth it.I already had one of the black Bluetooth controllers, but there's a certain convenience in having a 2.4G dongle so you can just plug and play.I first tested it on the Mega Drive Mini 2, and it worked perfectly. It also works great on my Mac Mini and PC. Though there's no official mention of it working with the Raspberry Pi, I tried it via RetroPie, and it worked perfectly. The controller feels really comfortable to hold and use. Though the colour scheme is based on a Saturn controller, the shell itself takes after the smaller Japanese version of the Mega Drive 6-button controller, rather than the larger version released here in the UK, so it might be somewhat uncomfortable for those with larger hands. There is a large version of the 6-button MD pad available from Retro-Bit (but if you do try one, go wired, as their batteries are terrible and the pads cannot be used wired). Here on the 8bitdo M30, battery life is great, and it can be used wired. In my experience these are the best modern day Mega Drive controllers.

8Bitdo , overrated business as usual
Update: 18 days into owning this, it has been used very lightly with fewer than 4 hours use yet the dpad has broken and now it acts like left is constantly pushed down and the right bumper has stopped working all together, even at this price range this is an extremely poor product.Having owned 8bitdo pro2 and their first "ultimate" controllers I already know the company does not deserve the praise it gets, it's poor function hidden behind the styling of old school playstation, nintendo, megadrive pads ,but when looking for a widely compatible, affordable 6 button pad this is recommended everywhere, you'd be hard pressed to find a review, comparison, tier list talking about "good dpads" or "affordable controllers pc" without the comments being filled with claims of this being the "best" dpad ever. It, like all 8bitdo dpads is horrendous, mushy, unresponsive, doing qcf somehow gives up inputs more often than not, of all the subjective things that someone could say in a review or critique and I would not agree with it but could understand their perspective, I have absolutely no idea how their dpads are an aspect that constantly get praised, especially in a time where you can get pads with responsive 8 directional microswitches with individual direction buttons on top, membrane dpads aren't inherently bad, but cheaply made, unresponsive ones that somehow frequently register down forward as an up input is objectively not good and certainly not the "best"On top of that it didn't work out of the box, it's and the receivers lights were solid blue indicating they were paired but no games or pad testing tools/websites detected any inputs and since the "manual" is a single page saying if there is a problem turn it off and back on then plug the receiver out then back in, there was no help from the company themselves. The only thing i can give credit for is that personally i think it looks good, a throwback design with what should be the modern convenience of wireless and button mapping, but personally I am done with 8bitdo, 3 different controllers years apart from their cheapest offering to their "ultimate" and "pro" range they have all been the same, the worst dpads i've encountered, mushy triggers, clunky slow software. If you like the look of the controller and want it to use for very casually emulating older games it will get the job done but if you play fighting games or platformers where accurate and consistent inputs are required the dpad will annoy you
