Best light weight cordless lawnmower I have owned
16 inch Greenworks 40v cordless lawnmower: I was leery going from a 20-inch cordless lawnmower to a 16-inch. I'm a 73 year old 4' 10" petite grandma so with all the great reviews I thought I would give this one a try seeing it was so lightweight. The height of it is perfect for me where my hands are down instead of up when mowing. I thought it might take longer to mow with the 16-inch, but I was wrong seeing I had to go over the lawn twice to mulch the grass small with a new blade on the old 20-inch. The Greenworks does a better job in mulching and going through the taller thicker grass with all that power. Also, because it is so lightweight I am not tired after mowing a small to medium size yard so easier to maneuver. The noise level is very low and the build quality is great and hope it lasts for years. Value for the money seeing I bought it on sale last September (2024) plus got $75 from my gas and electric company. It mows my total yard and I still have half the power left (2 lights on battery). I would highly recommend this lawn mower. I also bought the Greenworks cordless snowblower on sale which works in deeper snow and I now have two batteries if needed for either the lawnmower or snowblower. I just love the cordless items seeing I always had a hard time starting the gas items plus no more cords to deal with the corded items. I rarely give reviews but this one needs one to let others know how good it is

Great product, great customer service
We are very happy with this so far. It's all lightweight, but powerful. One problem was we were sent the wrong blower, it was 24 volt and we couldn't use the battery with it. We called their customer support line and the agent was very knowledgeable and helpful. It took a while to find our order, but once they did they said they would send us a blower and even upgraded the blower. It was already on it's way the next day. Exceptional customer service experience!

Will Not Start
Read the directions and put it together but would not start. Then finally started after 15 minutes. Got up and went to mow and again, would not start. Very discouraging. Also when I first charged the battery, the charger felt like it was about to catch fire. It took an hour to cool down. Hope it can go back!

Greenworks has an outstanding customer service! The best I have received in a long time. So helpful, so nice and knowledgeable. She wasn't a robot!!! We understood each other without questions! Most customer services have a problem with my language. She understood a Southern Grandmother!! I called twice with questions. She knew the right answers! Buy from Greenworks

Good mower hard to get parts and need at least one extra battery
Updated review after receiving the replacement safety rear shield / trail shield that protects you from debris fling out the back under the mower at your legs from this mower. I think this mower is better than any other battery powered mower at its' price point with only a Ryobi being around this price. People often complain, me included, that the moving times are very short, on average 15-20 minutes, before you have to recharge the battery or put in another battery if you have a second battery. Unfortunately this seems to be a fact with every single battery powered mower or string trimmer. You are better off buying a second tool from Greenworks that comes with a 4ah battery also so you can simply change the battery after the first battery needs to be recharged. I Have a very small yard and can't mow the front and back yard with two of the normal 4ah batteries. They do have a newer high output 4 ah battery but it is around $159.00 so I am just continuing to use the normal 4ah batteries. Almost all the battery powered tool brands are now offering either high out put or tabless batteries that supposedly last longer per charge during use. The mower deck height adjustment is superior to many more costly mowers and to the comparable ryobi. Its' problems mainly are in the fact that once anything goes wrong with the mower it takes a very long time to get a response from the warranty customer service and most parts are not available for sale on Greenworks website or anywhere for that matter. Only one Company offers a lifetime warranty on their batteries but Greenworks does not nor do any of the higher end Companies like Milwaukee or even the lower priced Ryobi or Kobalt batteries. Even German Bosch only offers a three year warranty on their batteries. The cost of all these tools is really in the batteries and you must take that into account and buy at least two tools with batteries or at the very least a second battery as one is not enough for moving even a small yard. There are many reviews of testing many brands of battery powered mowers and they all have the problem that they drain the battery very fast and don't let you get much of your yard mowed on a single charge. Your options are wait a couple hours for the battery, split moving your yard into a 2-3 day project, buying a second tool that also comes with a 4ah battery like their chain saw or buying one or two extra batteries as you can afford. Again this is absolutely no different than EVERY other brands battery powered mower. ll the companies reel you in with the tools but the real cost is in the batteries you will but you use those tools. You have to invest in a battery platform regardless of what brand you choose. I have been pleased with the power of this Greenworks 16 inch brushless mower for my small yard other than the batteries draining fast during use like all the other brands. There is one brand that offers a Lifetime guarantee on their batteries but that company does not make lawnmowers for the US market and only sells them in Europe under a different brand name. That leaves me with the recommendation if you want a 40 volt tool and are willing to invest in the Greenworks platform this is a superior mower in most aspects to other mowers in its' class. The only mowers that in my opinion and in test videos I haw watched are at least $600 - $900.00 mowers and you are still forced to invest in that companies batteries which are much more expensive than the Greenworks batteries with the exact same three year warranty. One day maybe all companies will offer battery warranties on their batteries and more reasonable priced ones so you can into their platform more easily but today is not that day.
