Perfect for a small A2W intercooler
This is the style The inter chiller uses, I'll be it this is a smaller version. Doing a custom air to water intercooler system for my GTI. There's the primary water circuit that flows through your intercooler core and front mounted heat exchanger. Then the custom part is a secondary water circuit that will utilize this heat exchanger. Then I can have an icebox like you've seen on most air to water intercooler systems. But the icebox circuit is boost referenced and on its own switch. So you use the primary water circuit for daily driving and in the staging lanes and whatnot. This way you don't heat up your ice water just from normal operation. Then you activate the icebox circuit and because it's boost referenced it doesn't warm up that water until you hit the PSI that you pre-select and if this placed in line just before your intercooler it adds a much deeper level of cooling right before enters your intercooler. Now if you wanted to be super gangster and replicate what the inner chiller does then you would just replace the secondary water circuit with your air conditioning supply lines. This is a daunting task, but it's really not as difficult as they would leave you to believe. It's probably just worth having an HVAC specialist refill your system because the pressures really matter and the balance between high and low side. Or you can go next level and run a standalone air conditioning system like one from a 12 volt freezer and just repurpose it causing a pretty good amount of cooling but not necessarily below ambient. An AC setup from a hybrid or an electric vehicle would do wonders for below ambient intake air temps. And it would stay running during wide open throttle. Modern vehicles disengage the AC compressor and the alternator during a wide open throttle situation. Kind of a bummer because that's when you need it more than ever. But if you have your standalone hybrid AC system on its own lipo battery then it doesn't have to turn off under full boost and you can program it to only charge under a certain RPM so that it's not taxing the alternator during a pole it just relies on the battery current during the pole and then just recharges itself when you're not making a pull.
