Works very well. I have others with screens and this works just as well. Sound is great also. Sits in the middle of the table and makes automation easy.

We were a little taken aback by the fact that the device turned on speaking Japanese, however once paired with our home it automatically made the adjustment and switched to English and works great. You'll know its going to boot up speaking a different language based on the box it comes in, ours was in a Japanese language box, so that should have been our first clue but again it was super easy to set up and get it speaking in English. Works just like our other nest minis, so we're happy.

Bought this for my 8 yr old daughter's room. She loves having access to music and it makes her feel like a big kid. These speakers put out good sound for being so small. Added bonus is you can set an alarm on them. It also helps her sleep at night because she can play nature sounds or ocean/rain to help her relax. No more coming out because she can't sleep or taking 2 hrs to fall asleep. She's out within 20 minutes now 🥰

I've had 3 of the 1st Generation Google Nest Mini Speakers, and had no issues at all with them, until one spent quite some time in a humid environment and stopped working. I couldn't get a new 1st Gen, so I got this one. It was easy to set up the first time and hook up to my existing Google Home. It worked fine the first day or so. Then, a few days later, following a power outage, it said it needed to be hooked up to the Google Home app. I couldn't get this to work without doing a factory reset. and it took days to have time to find the instructions. I got it hooked up and it worked for another day or two. It had been unplugged, so I thought that was the issue. After doing another factory reset and hooking it up again, we were very careful to avoid power outages, but it again stopped working soon after an unknown number of days (hadn't used it for some time). Did the factory reset, and now it spoke Japanese until we got it hooked up. As it was past the 30 day window, we couldn't return it. Have reset once or twice since then, hoping to get it to work, but it never stays more than a day or two. I love our other two, or I'd already be replacing all with Amazon Echo Speakers. As it is, we're replacing this with one, and will do the same should the others fail.

This is clearly a grey market product sold by Amazon in the US. The box is labelled all in Japanese, and when you first plug in the unit it speaks in Japanese. Once you connect to your Google Home app, it speaks in whatever language that is configured for. Installation is not as easy as expected, before you can connect to Google home you must download and run the Device Utility app. I'm disappointed by this as I would have expected a Google product to be configured to work directly with the Google home app. Once up and running, the Google assistant works well and the sound quality is very good for such a small speaker.
