3mm was too thin. One of them broke when I tried to put them in the door and when I did get one in place the hole was too big. My fault for not checking but it was a bit brittle for my liking.

These door handle screws pass all the way through the door pulling the metal plates on either side together as against just screwing the plates in to the wood which in time will come loose. So do it right first time.

Besides arriving late on prime membership these things are not for a door handle as shown in the picture.. They are long things that you have to apparantly cut up with pliers. But even if you do that there is either no screww serration on them or you have to screw a part in with no head to screw. Never been so angry in my life. I am about to move house. I have waiteddays over the time for these to arriveand now I have to go out to find screws that will actually do the job. I am a disabled pensioner I can hardly open a tin let alone cut metal with pliers. Any company that so misleads people like this should not be encouraged. I will never buy fro them again and never recommend theem. Finally there is no instruction on how to use these screws so if you even had the strength to cut the metal you would still be left scrstching your head.
