Great bit for the cost!
I recently used the FivePears V Groove Router Bit for routing under-shelf lighting grooves in solid red oak, and I’m thoroughly impressed. The bit did great, especially for the cost. It is worth noting I only made a few cuts, the two shown and a few practice ones, so if you plan on using this for a commercially, you may have different results.Attached is a photo of the grooves I made!

Probably no worse than other bits of similar design and higher price
I don't know if the design of the Five Pears 45degree bit is why the lettering is so much wider than the other 45 degree bit shown. Both are brand new, cut to a depth of 0.04" and height of 0.29". Material is black painted MDF. The Five Pears' cut does not show a flat nor any runout. The trough of the cut is a little fuzzy but still it comes to a point. The other bit shown, costs three times as much but it's the bit I'll use while the 5 Pears bit gathers dust until I have a project where quality is less important.

Good size
I got this v carve bit for making signs. I have a smaller v carve bit that is 1/4" in diameter, which is great from smaller signs, but larger signs aren't visible enough. The up to 1" width greatly increases the size and dimensions of the signs I can make.

Quite a good bit, although manufacturing quality is a bit iffy
I do a lot of CNC wood carving ... plaques, signs, etc. ... and I am partial to V-bits -- and small V-bits are the most versatile. So I was pleased to find this relatively tiny bit on Amazon. I received the order quickly and in solid packaging -- double packaging, really, since the bit itself comes in a molded plastic container that holds it securely and makes for easy storage and retrieval. So what's the rub? The yellow ceramic coating on the bit's head was chipped on both sides of the carbide cutter. It may seem like a minor issue ... "It's bound to get chipped when you use it!" ... but for me, that was a concern since when you're doing fine carving work in wood or plastic, the bit's being out of balance -- heavier on one side than the other -- can affect final product quality, fit and finish. This may have been a one-off, unique issue with this particular bit, but given the choice between this type of QC issue and a "perfect" bit, I definitely prefer one that doesn't have visible manufacturing flaws that appear to have coasted past Quality Control.

Nice sharp router bit
I'm very new to routing and am mostly just trying out new bits to see what they do and figure out how I might use them in the future. This isn't a bit that I have a set use in mind for just yet, so I tested it to make sure it cuts cleanly. It does.Others with more experience in routing will, I'm sure, have more astute comments to make about the bit and its potential uses. From my perspective, it seems to do the job well that it was intended to do, and that's all I can ask.

This is a hefty v-bit!
This thing is rock solid! Paint on it is so so but that doesn't really matter as long as it does its job which it does well. Worth the pick!

Very sharp bit that performs perfectly!
This review can be summarized by saying that the bit is sharp, performs wonderfully (both with the grain and across the grain, as the attached pictures show), and continues to hold its edge. The specifics are:Packaging (5/5): The bit came packaged securely inside a bubble wrap mailer (which was, in turn, inside an Amazon box). Router bit packaging isn't particularly exciting, but it does the job!Quality (5/5): Even at a glance, it's easy to tell that this is a quality bit. The edges are obviously sharp, everything is finished professionally, and the angle of the bit is a true 90 degrees.Performance (5/5): This bit performs VERY well!! I have attached a few pictures of a small red oak scrap that I routed for demonstration purposes. As you can see from the pictures, routing with the grain of the wood produces flawless results. But anyone who has used a router for long will know that the true test of a bit is its performance when routing across the grain. The final two pictures show the results that I achieved when routing across the grain. Even when moving across the grain, this bit did a tremendous job! You will notice that there are a few very small grains left behind at the top of the cut, but they are miniscule and could easily be removed with a quick pass using some high grit sandpaper or another pass of the router (I left the wood exactly as it was after the first pass to show how cleanly the bit cut).In summary, this is a nice bit that produces great results. If you are in the market for 90 degree bit with a 1" diameter, you won't regret purchasing this one!
