Great Intro to the Classic
We have many of these graphic novel classics. The violent scenes are not graphic, which I appreciate. There's a glossary and discussion questions at the end, which seems like a great way to suck the fun right out of the story. Maybe someone else will appreciate them.

Good intro to a classic
I bought this to introduce my kid to the story. It certainly made a classic accessible to a small kid on a camping trip without TV.

Keep kids interested in reading
Purchased this as a "high-interest" but "lower level" for one of my 4th grade students who has language delays. He absolutely loved the graphic novel format, and we worked on a lot of language using this book. Loved it!

Engaging adaptation!
My special education high school students read this version like a play and have a wonderful time doing so. The story is true to the original with simplified plot and language. The graphics are detailed and add richness to the simplified story. I plan to buy the entire series.

Missing details
My 10yo read the book at school and decided to read this on her kindle. She was disappointed in the softening of details and feels the vocabulary was swapped out for simpler plain words. The words that evoked vivid images in original were removed, leaving her with dull scenes. My daughter says she couldn't even stomach the last 10 pages. It's quite obvious, she perfered the original version.
