I have 12 steps - probably a standard number. The instructions on the bottle say the amount of liquid in the bottle (500ml) treats 5 square metres - with the spray needing to wet the carpet. Duly following the instructions, I was able to treat only 8 of my 12 steps - so have ordered a second bottle. Meanwhile, to say that the smell of the spray is mild and inoffensive. No idea yet how long the carpet will take to dry. ...I hope this is helpful for prospective purchasers. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ UPDATED... Water soaked straight into the fabric. Does it need a second coat? I sprayed it again and wiped it into the fabric and the result can be seen in the pictures. (it's a teaspoon of water by the way). It needs quite a lot of spray to work, half a bottle did 2 sofa cushions.Water now beads and rolls off the sofa. So it seems to work. I would have liked a set of instructions rather than the words of wisdom on the bottle, maybe with a couple of pics to demostrate how wet the fabric needs to get before this stuff works. Of course, once you know...
