Best can opener I have ever used
This is hands down the best can opener I have ever used. Reviews here seemed to state that but I take reviews with a grain of salt :) So not only was I pleased with this can opener's elegant design but somewhat astonished honestly at how well it works. In a lifetime of using can openers, I had no idea someone had actually achieved designing one to work so seamlessly... I did not think it had worked the first time I used it because I felt no resistance! "Easy peasy."

Great - for 18 months.
I've got an orange themed kitchen, and when I saw an orange can opener, it was a bit of a no-brainer. I loved it - it has really comfortable rubbery padding on the handles and the screw mechanism which makes it really comfortable to hold. I had no trouble opening cans of all sizes, from little tuna cans to giant cans of mango pulp. The cogs were sturdy and didn't jam. It cleaned well, and didn't let me down. However, 18 months on, I've waved goodbye to it. The spindle connecting the orange screw handle to the cogs didn't seem to connect any more. It would clip on to the side of cans still, and puncture a hole in, ready for the cutting cog to do its thing, but turning the handle did nothing. Hubby had a look at it and said that the mechanism had failed. I'm so disappointed - this is a really good can opener, but it just wasn't built to last.

Solid
This can opener typifies the 'but cheap, buy dear' motto. It's just not worth buying a cheap can opener as they don't work. This is a great opener, quite heavy in the hand but solid and very well made. Opens cans with ease and little effort due to the sharp blade and good mechanics.

Do not buy
I am sooo disappointed! I was over the moon that I had found an orange can opener to match my kitchen, one that appeared to be of good quality and not exactly cheap either. I bought it over a year ago, I loved the look of it, the weight of it and the rubber handles providing good grip but have never had to use it until today. It doesn't work! At first I thought it was me, that I was using it wrong, although there is only one way to use it, it's not exactly rocket science. I looked at the reviews to see if anyone else had trouble. My son then tried and realised that the mechanism had failed. How did it get through quality control???? Do not buy!!!

Does the job
It is heavy and feels reassuringly robust. Must have opened 100 tins of various kinds by now with no sign of blunting. If it carries on, I'll upgrade to 5 stars. I keep expecting it not to cut - sometimes the cut seems too shallow to reach in and reliably cut through the metal. So why not 5 stars now? Well, the disc that is cut out is very sharp - perhaps inevitable. But as you cut, it falls into the tin on top of your food. It's difficult to hook it out. I've found the best way to avoid this is as follows: just before you complete the cut, it tends to twist slightly and rise up - so you get a chance to grap it. But as I say, it's sharp - so take care! Very minor gripes, I'm sure others would have given it 5* based on my experience...

Fab!
I purchased this tin opener after reading the reviews. It's really good quality, heavy (not in a bad way) and easy to use. I can't see it breaking in the near future, but when I do have to purchase a new one - I will definitely look for one of these again.

Excellent quality can opener
Excellent quality and good value for money. The can opener is weighty and the grips comfortable to hold. I think it will last a long time. Delivery was prompt.

Not so easy opener
Colour a real zingy orange. Exactly as expected. Unfortunately all of the family think it is very awkward to use.
