How did I not realise!
I don't know how I managed this, but I had no idea that this was a prequel to Until Dawn! I think that made it amazing for me, when I heard about the miners and saw "that" patient video I flipped out! If I'm honest I think that's how the game should have played out. It should have been put out there as a standalone game for players to figure out the story for themselves. That realisation at what this game was has just made my night!Game was a but clunky in parts, but overall it was useable and immersive!

Enjoyed the special moments in this game - Interesting ties to original game.
This is a game that has huge potential, I can see what they were going for and in a way they nailed it. The voice recognition in this game is really interesting and was far more responsive then I thought it would be. The scares are well placed, some had me frozen in my place not wanting to even look behind me. There are little things they put in that made me smile a lot that reminded me of the original until dawn title and there is a sweet little extra easter egg after the credits. There are many cool things in this game.Dear SuperMassive - next game can you please leave the character isolated so that the horror and physiological tension is maintained, like Silent Hill 2. Dont give them a break, let them suffer. This makes a classic. When you let them take a breather the previous terror is almost forgotten and kind of a waste. You know this though you have already designed a master game Until Dawn. Be sure that the player isnt taken out of the game because they cant get their character to walk in a straight line or interact without doing 3point turns. The use of the headset was brilliant with the "Dont Move" part I was like AH NO WAY....COOOOL. I was so happy to see that back. But then you dropped it. What happened? There is nothing more terrifying then having to stay still when being stalked. that was brilliant.but you killed the tension when you gave my character other bodies to protect me with. I yawned all the way through that walking section. That is why your game is getting awful reviews. The last part of the game is intolerably boring.I am looking forward to seeing you guys come back full force with something EPIC like the other two titles, which I love to bits. I love being scared.

just what I like about good horror
VR literally brings horror into another dimension, The Inpatient made me feel wary and uneasy but with the knowledge that in reality there is no danger, just what I like about good horror. Being part of the story and immersed into it makes the experience alive so much more than a film could do. I don't know what the proper name for this type of work is but I don't think "Game" would be appropriate whatever one wishes to call it I can say it is genius and was well worth the wait for release.

Ok but quite disappointing
Having played Until Dawn and loved it more and more after various play throughs, I was excited when this finally released. After playing, as others have stated, it was far, far too short and the storyline a little lost. If you hadn't played Until Dawn before this, you might end up with a few questions. The controls (played with PS4 controller) were difficult to get to grips with in my opinion, they could have been better. Graphics were OK and gameplay was enjoyable. I do have to say, the ending was HUGELY anti-climatic. I was rather disappointed by it.Pro: I would say good for fans of Until DawnPro: Suspenseful in placesCon: Very, very short gameCon: Controls infuriating at timesIn essence, a good game to pass a few hours but lacks in depth story and "horror". Only one jump scare so prepare to be disappointed if you enjoy being terrified.

Overpriced and Overhyped
I had very high hopes for this game and it seems a lot was spent on advertising to build up the hype so decided to pre order with Amazon so I could get my hands on it for release day.To be honest the first 15 minutes of the game were very impressive in terms of graphics and i was looking forward to what was awaiting me.Once you wake up in your hospital room it all seemed to go down hill. The graphics seemed more faint/less detailed and the controls (motion controllers) just seems clunky and in combination with the on screen alerts that my controllers were not within camera range just pulled me out of the whole experience (could the developers not have just put a small notification up or allowed the user to work it out)All in all the story was over in a about 2hrs 30 and a lot of it was spent slowly walking halls and rooms with very little you can do apart from stare at white glowing object to trigger a past memory.I never connected with any of the game characters so to be honest was not fussed who lived or died (unlike Until Dawn which they did so well) so due to this the game has such little reply value. In a nutshell this game is overpriced, overhyped and left me feeling disappointed.Have now sold it on ebay & will be waiting for full reviews on games before pre ordering again. If you can pick this up for under £10 then give it a go but dont expect a full game like RE5.

Lacks that certain something...
I was impressed with the VR effect, feeling emersed within the Hospital is good and the odd jump scare makes the heart rate speed up, however i feel the game lacks a bit of excitement, could do with a little more action and the last quarter of the game seemed a little slow. I would've liked the game to have been longer but it was ok for the experience.

it does a lot of stuff really well like, the atmosphere
I don't know what to think of the inpatient, on one hand, it does a lot of stuff really well like, the atmosphere, tone, the visual style, the voice command is spot on and the choice system is fantastic, on the other hand, it fails at doing many other things like moving god help you if you played with the dual shock, picking things up is also a nightmare and if your not careful your hand can get your hand stuck in the wall or sometimes your hands won't be usable at all. also the voice acting is not that great only one or two sound convinsing and the rest of the cast sond like there forgetting there lines mid sentance
