There are no instructions, everything iwritten on the box is in Chinese and it doesn’t turn on when you hit the power button don’t buy this pen and you have to pay for service I am returning this product

I waited one month for this product I needed it for an emergency, I tried making it work for one week to realize that you can’t change the input or output language, when I tried conencting it to my phone it told me I needed to scan it with WeChat which has very demanding sign up qualifications the only thing the product helped me with is losing my sanity

Instructions in Chinese so I could not figure it out. I might have to ho to a Chinese restaurant so they can help me out.

I rated this item a one because I wasn't able to give it zero stars. This was an absolute waste of money. Everything is written in a foreign language making the pen inaccessible. To add insult to injury if you attempt to return the pen you have to send it somewhere that's written in a foreign language that UPS couldn't access but estimated roughly eighty-five dollars or more.

I'll start by saying it's a pretty little device. I think they tried to make it fit nicely in the hand and be portable. They succeeded in these things. It also...kind of translates? But not really. Two stars for listing accuracy.The rest is a nightmare. It's completely in chinese characters, and not even pinyin anywhere to be found. English is almost non-existant. It says "bye bye" when you turn it off, that's about it. When I highlight english text to be translated, about 1 in 25 times it will actually translate a word. ONE WORD. Not entire sentences. I cannot get this to translate more than nouns, and the nouns have to be well known. When it does recognize a word, then it shows a screen where you can press to hear it in english, press to hear it in chinese, and press to record something. This WOULD be useful for my son who has been learning chinese, but it doesn't do it easily or consistently. As for the strange record button, I don't know what you would record because again it's all in chinese characters so not even sure what this function does since I can't read it and there's no manual.Often, when I highlight a noun written originally in english hoping to receive its chinese counterpart, it gives information on the noun still in english, but doesn't state the noun itself in either language. What is the point of that?When I scan chinese, you'd think this would be easier for the device. NOPE. I scan chinese and it populates SOME of the characters onto the screen...still as chinese characters. No translation, no nothing. It's just like a copy service. The device also often has a QR code it refers you to and in all transparency, I haven't even bothered scanning it. I though this device was supposed to be a simple in your pocket, phone-free type of translator. If I have to use my phone then why not just download a FREE language translating app?I can't even imagine the market this would be good for. The entire listing to sell this product is in english, but the entire product is in chinese. Maybe an immigrant child buying it for a less language fluent immigrant parent? Even so, it seems confined to nouns, and even then only when it recognizes them, and when it actually wants to give the word rather than strange history of the object.This "translator" pen is all fluff. I'm sticking with my phone.
