Excellent Movie, if not all that accurate. If you like big explosions then you should like this.

A fabulous story, well told and acted. In my opinion it's well worth watching

A Classic Spectacle Movie that will sparkle forever

* Synopsisin an indeterminate day in - the - future, the earth is to be hit by a meteorite. The size of Texas. It's a global killer. Not even bacteria would survive. The N.A.S.A and N.S.A. urgently decide the best way to tackle this. They decide to use a crack oil driller team to drill into this meteor and use nuclear devices to shatter it from the inside. They are the biggest, widest set of characters you could expect. And are pushed through a crash course to get ready.* The film was a record breaker in the cinema. It held a record for the loudest soundtrack for several years. The way it's describing the issue is to be big on impact and low on brain cells required. It's great doing this! It's a fun film. There is nothing wrong with this crowd-pleaser.In uni, I met a North Sea oil driller with a decade of experience drilling, and he was doing a Master's to top up his CV. He explained his job and its awe-inspiring in both technical and intellectual prowess. Somewhere else on a course, I met a North Sea deep diver. He drove about in a Rolls Royce. So this part is definitely true.It's sad that Bruce Willis is terminal with his condition. My dad had this too. It's not a nice way to go.

Dvd came quick in great condition and played well

POSSIBLY THE BEST FILM EVER MADE...........NOT BECAUSE OF THE GREATEST ACTING, STORYLINE, SPECIAL EFFECTS, DIRECTION, PRODUCTION OR EVEN SOUNDTRACK (WHICH IS EXCELLENT BY THE WAY)....BECAUSE IT WORKS IN EVERY ASPECT.THOSE REVIEWERS WHO HAVE MICRO MANAGED THEIR EXAMINATION OF THIS MOVIE "SHAME ON YOU", THATS LIKE THE TYPE OF PEOPLE WHO WOULD COMMENT ON THE ASTHETIC QUALITIES OF A VAN GOUGH REVIEWING QUEENS BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY....I WOULD IMAGINE THEY WOULD FIND FLAWS IN THE BUCKET LOAD...THE FILM IS PURE ESCAPISM, WHICH IN MANY WAYS IS WHAT THE LARGE PROPORTION OF THE PUBLIC WHO VISIT THE MOVIE THEATRES WANT, HENCE ITS BOX OFFICE SALES....AS MANY THESPIANS WHO HAVE CREATED GREAT WORKS IN THE PAST WOULD SAY "THEY ARE PROUD OF THEIR WORK, BUT IF NO ONE GOES TO SEE IT WHATS THE POINT?"...THIS IS EMINENTLY WATCHABLE BY ANYONE!! IT WORKS ON ALL LEVELS IF YOU DONT TAKE "YOURSELF TOO SERIOUSLY" AND TRY NOT TO WORRY TOO MUCH IF THERE IS NO FULL REPRESENTATION OF ALL GROUPINGS IN A TOTAL POLITICALLY CORRECT ENVIRONMENT THATS NOT WHAT THE FILMS ABOUT....ITS NOT A STATEMENT ITS ENTERTAINMENT AT ITS VERY BESTBUY IT, WATCH IT RELAX HAVE A BEER, ENJOY IT!!!! PUT IT AWAY THEN COME BACK TO IT SOME MONTHS LATER WHEN YOU NEED TO CHILL AND WATCH IT AGAIN!!ENJOY

NASA discovers a huge meteor simmilar to the one that wiped out the dinosaurs is heading to Earth. Coming up with a plan they recruit a team of oilrig workers to land on the meteor and blow it up before it reaches Earth and destroys all life on the planet. One of director Michael Bay's early films, this is a cheesy, ridiculous film that you can't take seriously for a second yet also a lot of fun with Bruce Willis in good form and a good supporting cast including Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, Steve Buscemi, Billy Bob Thornton, Michael Clarke Duncan, Owen Wilson and Will Patton all playing it completely tongue in cheek. Spectacular action and effects and looks stunning on bluray too. One of Michael Bay's best films.

BRILLIANT, Bruce Willis at his 'in your face' best! The characters are fantastic, very funny in parts, very exciting in others and with an ending that rips the heart out of you. Can't recommend highly enough. Great action, edge of the seat excitement, great effects. Excitement, fear, humour and emotion all in one great package. A MUST SEE movie. I watch this over and over and never tire of it. One of my all time favourites.
