Your new obsession awaits
“Na’laa”, he whispered. “You should’ve known better than to run. I will always catch you.”In a turn of events and to the surprise of absolutely no one, especially those of you who have been around since the start, I am absolutely head over heels in love with this brand-new dark dystopian high fantasy novel by JLA; Fall of Ruin and Wrath. Captivating in every sense, I am utterly taken by this lethal world that is filled with plot twists that’ll have you gasping, sizzling spice that will leave you melting, and characters that are just larger than life. True, it took me an ungodly amount to actually finish the last chapter because I knew once that last page ache hit, it was going to cut deep. And it did.Jennifer is my ride or die author, she always truly goes above and beyond and puts something extra unique and addictive into her books and forever leaves me craving for more. Even though this was something completely brand new, having that familiarity of her words treacle in is always like the warmest hug from a friend you haven’t seen for the longest time.Calista aka Lis is officially one of my all-time favourite FMC’S ever to be written. Her intuition is her biggest gift. I was able to instantly connect with her in a way that I have never experienced. She is confident, witty, real, raw, too relatable and mature yet has a naivety about her and despite her past she has not let this guard off her heart. There were honestly so many things I appreciated about her character, from her daily gardening, to hearing her inner thoughts and her openness when it comes to her body and sexuality (yes please and thank you!) Simply put Lis is a breath of fresh air and I am forever grateful you decided to give her a voice.Ladies and gents Thorne.. THORNE has officially entered the chat and he is here to stay. He is everything I could have possibly wanted him to be and more. Perhaps one of the most morally grey characters ever to be written I am just a little bit feral for him. From his possessive nature, his stance and that mouth on him. Utterly divine and delicious. He is one of the most forward characters I’ve ever read, yet at the same time the audacity of him being so respectful. Mark my words, he will become a favourite book husband across all boards! He is an enigma, and I cannot wait to peel back those layers and find out EVERTYHING about him.Their interactions were just TOP NOTCH, leaving me yearning for more and you know you are in trouble when characters get you to smile out loud and kick your feet with giddiness.I honestly loved the dynamic between all the characters. Found family and friendships as a trope is a personal favourite and here, I find myself amongst yet another one that I couldn’t get enough of. Especially Bastian and from what minor interactions we got of him with Thorne and Lis was honestly *chefs kiss* and something tells me he will be taking over my thoughts just as much. Of course, couldn’t leave out our precious Grady. His friendship with Lis made my heart too happy. The plot, lore, world and the character build were just the right amount. The perfect beginnings of a gripping arc for them all. In fact, I found myself going back to those earlier chapters throughout to highlight anything and everything. I will say without giving too much away, this might be one of my favourite “new” worlds to ever exist. JLA is the queen of foreshadowing and this one has a basketful of Easter eggs. I cannot wait to uncover them all and let the puzzle pieces connect.Compared to her other books this is on the higher end of the spice-o-meter for sure, still in true Jen style we get that delightful simmering slow burn and tension but ya’ll once the spice hit, it was indeed spicing away. A world that I would definitely consider open door and very fluid. Nothing was taboo and consent was a constant underlying theme, which I always appreciate greatly. Plus seeing more women take charge and ask for what they want when it came to their own desires, we need more of this. I bow down.Fall of Ruin and Wrath is pure Jennifer L Armentrout magic at its core and one that everyone needs to indulge themselves in. I cannot wait to reunite with them and see where the story takes us. Desperately waiting for book 2.

Highborn vs Lowborn…who will prosper?!
Of course I have to go and read another fantasy book that is part of an unfinished series!!! Give me all of them! I did enjoy this one though. It is slightly different than other fantasy series due to having different “creatures.” Let’s go over some likes / dislikes.Likes:1. Thorne - love his honesty. I know Deminyens can’t lie, but it’s so refreshing. Also, he just always finds Lis *swoon*2. The world building of Claude’s estate. Feel like if it was a real place, I’d be able to pick it out!3. Lis - she seems like a pretty BA FMC.Dislikes:1. Claude and Hymel- what scumbags.2. The blatant disregard majority of the lords / princes have for the “lowborn.”3. Lis at the end!!! Girl, you’ve got a lunea blade and are by yourself with a lord…stab that guy!Overall, I very much enjoyed The Awakening #1. Looking forward to book #2 and other books by Armentrout.

Fall of ruin and wrath
Ho letto i suoi fantasy e i suoi romance, ma in Fall of ruin and wrath non c'è l'Armentrout ce conosco.

I am UPSET the next book won't be for a while. I need mooooore! ♥♥♥♥I'm a simple woman. I see a new book by JLA and I have to read it.I thought it was a good first book to a series. The beginning dragged, but I mean it is the beginning of the series. A necessary evil in my eyes.
